agree, Jess >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I actually don't mind Jess Glynne, she's just like a beige wall :D but no offensive. She gets a lot of hate cos she's got some non-#1s to her name... I mean she's talented sure but not as talented as to deserve the so many #1s she has

on the other hand Anne Marie is pure evil, the worst pop-act we've had in ages, with 2002 being her lowest point

Jess! Seeing her live as a support act for the Spice Girls reminded me that she does have a handful of good songs. She also has 'I'll Be There', 'Thursday' and 'These Days' though :/ However, '2002' is more offensive to the ears than any of those so she still wins
2002 was terrible, but I'd say Anne-Marie's lowest point was Perfect To Me. Thankfully that narrowly missed out on a place in the top 40.
This is so funny because I remember how hyped everyone here was for Anne-Marie when Alarm first came out  I actually enjoy both but I prefer Jess.

funnily both have lots in common:

first big hit a #1 as featured in a Clean Bandit song,

collabs with Rudimental, Guetta, Clean Bandit, in general lots of collabs with dance acts

a song penned by Ed Sheeran,

a song about I don't have to be pretty etc (Thursday vs Perfect to me),

a song in The Greatest Showman re-imagined...

+ first entry was as a featured artist for a dance act ("Rather Be" for Jess and "Rumour Mill" for Anne)

also not even close in terms of chart success

Anne Marie has a total of 5 top 10s including one Number one as featured on Clean Bandit's Rockabye. She's had two solo top 10s (2002, Ciao Adios), one as a duet with James Arthur (Rewrite the Stars) plus Friends as featured on the Marshmello song. So 5 top 10s overall but just 2 solo.

Jess Glynne has a total of 12 top 10s including 7 Number ones, 3 as lead, 4 as featured.

Easily Jess. I get the criticisms but I love her albums, she has some great songs and she can actually sing.

Anne-Marie is pretty awful, she doesn’t have a great voice.

Based on Clean Bandit team-ups, Jess wins by a country mile. Rather Be is one of the few perfect pop songs that 2010's has produced.

Solo-wise, I'd say early Anne-Marie was better than Jess overall. Do It Right, Alarm, Ciao Adios and Heavy were all strong releases but her single post-2017 have been truly terrible. 2002 is awful, Perfect To Me is bland and there's no excusing that Rewrite The Stars cover. Her featured work hasn't been great since either. Friends and Don't Leave Me Alone are both really grating.

Jess's solo career is bland but at least consistent, I don't viscerally hate any of her songs like I do some of Anne-Marie's. Hold My Hand has been fully killed off by Jet2, but I never liked it much anyway.

Jess Glynne

I don’t really get the dislike for her tbh.

If she’d had less #1s I think she’d perhaps get an easier ride on here too. People don’t like that she out #1s their faves.

But Jess has stronger albums and she has a good voice too. She sounds the same live too.

With Anne Marie I don’t really dislike her she just sort of got worse after starting out as having personality and being interesting she just sort of went downhill musically despite gaining in popularity.
