They're utterly clueless and it's maddening. No other country in HISTORY has torn up all its trade deals and turned its back on its CONTINENT all at once. It's insane.1984 is here.
EU just rejected Bojo the Bloat's plan  Common Sense found crying. It's no surprise, seeing as that Etonian blustering born to rule disco citizens pribiliged racist old oik thought that handing in the exact same deal WITH THE BACKSTOP SCRIBBLED OUT would be in any way appropriate  The incredible sulk also voted for Mad May's deal, backstop and all, in the first place. Why does he suddenly not like it again? Why is he pro Brexshit? He eas pro EU up until the day he had to choose, and Dominick Cummings the foul-mouthed unelected sneaky beaurocrat told him it would be better for his pm prospects to back no deal.

Like I said before, faith is a helluva drug.

"Oh I'm sure it'll be fine"

"I'm sure we make that here"

"They wouldn't let that happen"

"They couldn't print it if it wasn't true"

"Boris wouldn't lie to us"

"We didn't vote for that so they won't be allowed to"

At this point there is a stark divide between what people believe will or won't happen, and what has been forecast and predicted to happen by the government's own risk assessment, and the logic of, as an island, suddenly cutting all trade ties with the part of the world through which all other trade has to pass to get to the UK.

I remember one Tory so utterly utterly brainwashed, he said, "oh, but what better country than us to try?" r.e being the first in history to rip up all trade deals and ignore their continent  We have stopped talking.

Which Tory was that then?

Someone I knew who pretended they weren't Tory, but it became very obvioud that they were.

Oh thought you meant a Tory MP.

I noticed no-one has confirmed or denied whether the man himself said this... and I find it impossible to believe that we do not make insulin at all here.

You'd be surprised how much we import or as Suedey rightly imports, we may manufacture but the ingredients we use have to come through customs. It's just why the whole thing is sheer madness. Not many people really understand the supply chain as I have banged on about so many times in here.

I can see it an absolute mile off - the government will pass the buck to businesses for not "being prepared". It's impossible to prepare for.

Completely agree Roo. The little manufacturing that we do here absolutely depends on JiT supply chains that stretch across the continent. Businesses EU-wide have absolutely taken advantage of the single market to procure the most cost effective and best quality supplies from other places and even spread their manufacturing base over countries that are then centralised somewhere for final assembly - Car Manufacturing really works like this.

Leaving the single market is the dumbest possible move. If you want to lose influence over the club, fine go to the EEA model with more controls on fishing and immigration - exactly what brexiteers offered in 2016. Coming out of the single market is purely ideology. It’s reckless destruction of our economy and the competitiveness of our businesses for absolutely no benefit whatsoever

What makes this obsession with leaving the Single Market by the right-wing loons is that its biggest cheerleader when it was set up was one Margaret Hilda Thatcher.
Especially when they promised and screamed that the referendum WASN'T about leaving the single market. They said no one was talking about it and that it was madness. They were right!

Not when they decided to take away the power to control exchange rates.

Lol yes! The pineapple ring on top of the gammon

We’re not in the ERM and neither are a few other EU countries. You only have to join it for 2years prior to your swap to the Euro. Which is why Sweden refuse to join it - so they’re never obligated to switch for the Euro

You really are such a halfwit, and totally delusional with it.

Show me a link where they say they're going to force sick and disabled to work. They can't in certain cases. It would be against our human rights.

Show me hard evidence that they care about human rights.

The human rights the Tories have been desperate to strip? Thr human rights the papers have used as an excuse to leave the eU? The human rights the Tories say we don't deserve because of some god reason? Those ones?

Human Rights are inherent - they *cannot* be legitimately taken away.

The Human Rights *Act* however is just legislation, and can be amended/repealed by any gov't, especially if it is being abused in some way, e.g. to prevent deportation of dangerous convicted criminals...
