Such a good album! Oop at the lead single being my least fave! 6 is a more generous score than I would have given it a few weeks ago.

I didn't really know where to throw my 11, but in the end I decided to give it to the song I feel is the most underrated: False God

Tried not to be too loony about the album! Lover/Cruel Summer/The Man are such a strong trio  You Need To Calm Down has really grown on me since the album release after being a bit eh about it at first. London Boy is also another that the lyrics make it stand out, but the song is not intended to be taken too seriously so the lyrics match the dreamy fun sound.

I think the album wouldn't be much different without Afterglow, Death by a Thousand Cuts or False God. Although I need to listen to the latter and Soon You'll Get Better a bit more.

The one song I'm just not seeing feeling of is The Archer. It completely drifts by until the final third and then we have the Humpty Dumpty line which is much worse than any of the other lyrics on the album she's being criticised for. I get what it's trying to do but it's just never left much impression on me!

Finally, some taste in this thread~

I think the album wouldn't be much different without Afterglow, Death by a Thousand Cuts or False God.

'Afterglow' maybe (as much as I do like it) but those other two I'd say are among the most standout songs just purely sonically, the album would be a lot more samey without them!

London Boy and You Need To Calm Down are my skips and without those it’s a strong strong album!

Amongst my favourites of the year and possibly her best after 1989. It’s a more natural follow up and a more natural album from her tbh. Reputation felt like she was trying to prove a point at times where as she feels and looks more natural and comfortable in this era.
