Mika is quite an of his time type artist.

Big debut but his new release I had no idea of until I seen it on this forum I suppose others may have been the same.

Mika's new album was never going to be a success.

His popularity has declined significantly on every release since his debut and i don't see that he will be able to reverse the trend anytime soon.

It's a shame about Mika because he's actually pretty talented and can still write a great song.

I suppose you have to consider it's way over a decade ago now since he had his big debut era.

(I didn't actually know about this release either though to be fair)

Mika is still very popular in Europe, especially Italy, but thats cos he was a judge on X factor.
Mika's most successful market has been in France - all studio Albums have peaked in top 2. The reviews of this Album have actually been quite good, deserves better in my opinion although admittedly I have only listened to once.
I’m expecting Maroon 5 to scrape into the top 40 on Friday seeing as they’re at #8 on iTunes and #54 on Spotify
I actually thought Mika was French, just realised he's from the UK :D

He's Lebanese-British, and he speaks 7 languages fluently including arabic....

Too bad he's no longer popular in the UK, but he still is huge in many other markets...

I've bought every Mika album, including this one, and they're all good. It's a shame he only had one and a bit eras of success here. His last album No Place In Heaven was brilliant - his best since his debut for me - and this one is decent too, at least the first half is. The second half isn't quite as interesting.

No, as per the update we have only the top 40.

Snatch that second week top 2 'Abbey Road' *.* (...of course not its overall weeks x)

Could be but could also end up at 4 or 5 at how close the sales are.

Hope Travis can hang onto #2, Regard only caught up by a few hundred since the Monday update so it could happen.
Really pleased Sam Fender has climbed from 15 in the first update to 11 - hopefully he can overtake Summer and stay Top 10 for a 4th week :cheer:

Five Star are going to lose that Top 40 position i fear.

That said, anywhere in the Top 75 is strong outcome for them.

I just listened to Mika's album and it's actually really good! It's criminal that he's going to chart so low with it.
