Thank you to all who voted in the last round! As no one broke the tie we have a TRIPLE ELIMINATION :o

Eliminated

26. Everglow (13/31 votes, 17.81%)

Another big leader and this time, it's one of the last singles from A Head Full of Dreams, Everglow. Originally released as a promotional single when the album first came out, it received a proper single release almost a year later in a stripped-down version that was inspired by the unrehearsed Glastonbury performance in which Chris Martin realised the piano was out of tune so did it in a lower key. It contains uncredited background vocals from Gwyneth Paltrow, who Chris Martin was then married to and ends with a sample of Muhammed Ali's speech in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. I must admit, I had to remind myself of this but it's rather lovely and nice to see something stripped down in what was quite a bombastic album in all.

25. Lost! (7/31 votes, 9.59%)

And another of Viva la Vida...'s less successful singles goes out, I recall this going top 10 when I last ran a Coldplay singles rate, so this is perhaps a surprise result, I guess it's fans weren't out in full force this time. Lost! was released as the fourth single and additionally a live version from the Grammys 2009 featuring a guest feature from Jay-Z (known as Lost+), there isn't actually an official video that isn't live but they did allow fans to submit self-made videos which they submitted the winning entries. I'm rather gutted this is gone, this is so uniquely anthemic, with its organ use, slow build, and repeated refrain, it really gets into your head and deserved to do better here.

24. Shiver (7/31 votes, 9.59%) (Less votes in previous rounds)

(I'm just using this system as I hate tied positions and can't be bothered with tie breaks before the top 20) Our first true OG Coldplay single goes out, as the second single from Parachutes and first ever to make the top 40. It was influenced, as a lot of Parachutes' material was, by Jeff Buckley's Grace, with lyrics about unrequited love for a specific woman in Chris' affections, though he's never revealed who and the media have speculated on many. While there was certainly better on Parachutes, all their earlier singles have a quaint charm about them and this is no exception, lovely song.

As we are very close to the top 20 now, I'm going to be evil and have another triple elimination and say you must vote for your THREE least favourites :o It will be just single eliminations after this. You have until Wednesday afternoon or so.

24. Shiver (7/31, 9.59%) (Less votes in previous rounds)

25. Lost! (7/31, 9.59%)

26. Everglow (13/31, 17.81%)

27. Life in Technicolor II (9/32, 14.06%)

28. Atlas (12/32, 18.75%)

29. Something Just Like This (w/ The Chainsmokers) (9/29, 14.06%)

30. Miracles (Someone Special) (w/ Big Sean) (11/29, 17.19%)

We really went a bit wrong with those eliminations, Lost in particular is such an anthem </3

Went with the same two as last round with God Put a Smile Upon Your Face thrown in there too~

you guys are heathens

At least Shiver finished ahead in the tie, the least it deserves! I would genuinely place Shiver in my top three Coldplay songs, so I'm gutted to see it out that early but I'm not too surprised as it's not as well known as the rest of this list. Lost is good too but I expected that to go.

Going for Midnight, Hymn For The Weekend and Up & Up.

No big losses in that three, Shiver is pretty decent though.

My votes are Adventure Of A Lifetime, Charlie Brown & Midnight. All disposable.

you guys are crazy, there is still so many terrible songs, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Adventure of a Lifetime, both are 0/10 songs... Up & Up, Charlie Brown, God Put a Smile, Orphans, Midnight... they're all mediocre to say the least... Everglow, Lost and Shiver were miles better than those...

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Trouble and Magic. All the others (bar The Scientist) I go back to regularly.

Really shouldn't have eliminated Lost, it's gorgeous. So is Everglow to be fair.

This time I voted for:

- Christmas Lights

- God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

- Hymn For The Weekend

After those I already don’t want to touch anything that’s left

Oh I didn't see it was three this time. Went Christmas Lights and Hymn... Princess of China misses out on a vote from me.

A shame Shiver and Lost went out so early, both would be in my top 10 of these songs, Shiver top 5.

For this round I went for:-

Charlie Brown

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

Princess of China

went with:

• Christmas lights

• Charlie Brown

• Fix you

We really went a bit wrong with those eliminations, Lost in particular is such an anthem </3
this poll went wrong from the first elimination, everything else is basically *shocked pikachu face* at this point

'Shiver' is great but definitely no surprise at it being the first older song to go out.

Voted for 'Christmas Lights', 'Hymn For The Weekend' (great song, like everything else left, but definitely the weakest of their recent big poppier hits) and, after wracking my brain, 'Orphans' just as it hasn't had enough time to really place it among their classics (and it's my least fave of the 3 songs from 'Everyday Life' now since 'Arabesque' has grown on me a lot).

'Charlie Brown' set to go out? D:
