If DM goes go ACR, maybe Stormzy could prevent LadBaby getting Xmas #1 due to the release of his album

He will increase but can't see him doing much more than 60k!

Tones is 55k down on what she did on the last Tuesday update even though she has gone back to No1 today. Certainty for ACR at this rate
By the way great to see the welcome return of Eric Blob to the midweek thread!
Plus Buzzjack hates the fact that Mariah hasn’t got the biggest Christmas song for once x

Except she does, but only half of her streams are actually counting.

Marie's death is gonna change the things a litlle bit a thing the next days i think

I doubt it, Roxette are hardly a big name these days. I'll be happy if It Must Have Been Love goes Top 100 officially!

The same applied to Cheerleader and Lush Life though? They were on an absurd amount of Spotify playlists (for no reason, I suspect someone paid a lot of money for it, or maybe a high level Spotify employee stanned the songs and decided to sneak them into as many playlists as they could), and it's pretty obvious they caught on initially because people were accidentally hearing them due to autoplay, rather than actually choosing to listen to them. Isn't this similar to what's happening with Ellie Goulding's song?

In the case of Lean On, whilst it was also on an absurd amount of Spotify playlists, which wasn't reasonably justifiable, at least Diplo and DJ Snake were famous beforehand, so I can understand people being interested to hear a collab between them, but the extent on the playlisting, as if it was a new Ed Sheeran or Justin Bieber song, was still suspicious.

Maybe this Ellie Goulding song will catch on and become a genuine hit and still be charting in the top 10 in March, and then you'll mention the suspicious Amazon behaviour surrounding this song to someone in 2024 and some guy will insist that you were just imagining it, but you'll know that wasn't the whole story.

The fact of the matter is, the first 1,000,000 people in the UK to ever hear Cheerleader, 90% of them heard it through Spotify (and the other 10% probably heard it via someone who heard it on Spotify), and had it not been on all those playlists (which it appeared on for no apparent reason), it might still be a relatively unknown song today. It's not like the song got popular from Vine or Tik Tok, or from festivals, or from underground raves, it was from Spotify playlists.

But Cheerleader was huge on iTunes back when Spotify didn't dominate the chart the way it does now which renders your point pretty invalid? It was also a big hit elsewhere in the world e.g. Australia so it wasn't like it was some obscure album track nobody had ever heard of.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how LadBaby does this year - I do think he'll be a #1 contender.

Look at the midweek sales, if DM is removed they are quite low which makes me think he could do it.

Ya a top 100 is prob the most we can hope for, it's such a great song.

100% going to Lad Baby unfortunately

Even more hype than last year!

That's what I'm doing! :kink:

haha the OCC is so gonna notice and disqualify Dance Monkey from the charts :D thanks :D

NO OTHER SALES INFO

You lot on here every week talking about what number you want songs to be at makes no sense to me. The charts are pure fiction and made up. Just look at ACR, ratios, streaming, free/paid for, forced playlists. Back in the day, you knew where you stood. A sale is a sale. Do any of you actually take it seriously?

It's still the official chart and there's no harm in wanting to see your favourite artists do well in it. A top 10 single is still prestigious (which is why I'm not gonna be happy when Harry inevitably doesn't go higher than #11 this week, album release to boost it next week please x)

Wow go Rod. Did anyone predict Rod for Xmas No.1?
