Apparently Kylie is on 45K and they're on 41K.

I'd say she's probably on 50/52k by now after this mornings crazy signed bundles/vinyl's and cd's.

Their team just gave Kylie the win lmao.

I wish they were more tactful with their bundles. They could have done it. But here's to longevity (despite big few weeks in Nov gah)

Honestly if you'd have told me at the start of the year they'd have a single challenging for number 3 and an album clearing about 45K in it's first week I'd never have believed you.

It's irritating they couldn't beat Kylie but this week just proved they're one of the biggest artists in the UK besides Adele and Ed Sheeran. I genuinely couldn't see anyone else getting sales like that in 2020.

I was annoyed at first but if you think about the sales are still incredible especially for a girl group going for 10 years.

Also, A MASSIVE two fingers up at all the trolls that constantly say they are past it or have no talent on newspaper articles!

We all know the public love to troll girl bands so it just makes it all the more sweet to see them selling so well.

The sales are impressive - we need to be happy with that.

I agree that none of us thought they would be in this position again - one of the fastest selling albums of the year, a potential top 3 smash single that looks like it's going to stick around for a while and a sell out tour.

It is a shame RCA didn't think about the chart battle a little bit more - it could have been close right to the end if they had scheduled promo, had a deluxe, cheaper items / postage etc. They could have handled it a little better.

Yeah no cassettes on release week, Splatter sold out in HMV since Saturday..

No signed standard cd’s

No different formats

They really could have gone wild too...

Confetti - The Party edition (Amazon exclusive cover)

Confetti - Jade/Jesy/Leigh/Perrie individual Glitter Cd cover

Confetti - Signed standard CD

Confetti - Limited edition 500/1000 copies Vinyl with all the girls on

And that’s just off the top of my head.

At this stage they're better pushing Sweet Melody to be as big as possible. The bigger the single the more streams the album will get anyway. Long term it would be better for them than just releasing more variations of the album anyway.

Push the single to number 1 if possible and see how stable the album is.

Agreed! They've done really well to get back to the level they were at the start of 'LM5' considering all that happened in between. It's really highlighted their dedication, resilience and talent (not that we didn't know that before, but they've proved the critics/media wrong and it's defied the public's expectations of girl band shelf-life).

I think the album will sell consistently through Christmas and let's hope they can challenge the #1 spot in January!

Ah well, they’ve lost the race. But it’s still impressive that in 2020 Little Mix are going to clear at least 45k after the last few years. I’m beyond proud of them. For not having a lot of promo lined up they really did hold their own against the promo behemoth that is Kylie.

The #1 for Sweet Melody is still v much within our grasp, that should be their focus. I’m so proud of them, really. The world is always against them and they always prosper and rise above. Even having a temporary line-up change, they’re still beyond professional and graceful. 😭😭😭

Kylie's team go hardddd. I think Little Mix's team just weren't prepared enough on release week. Even on iTunes, Kylie's album is cheaper despite having more songs! The sales are still amazing though, and when they're still getting Sweet Melody sized hits, #1 albums don't mean a great deal as long as they don't disappear after one week.

Download sales are shockingly low!

Given it was on pre-order for so long and LM were constantly in the top 5/6 pre-orders album the 2k figure we had for downloads is terrible.

I can see iTunes going anytime to be honest...

Oh I completely agree with all of you, I was surprised they were as close as they were, I'm just sad they didn't fight for it more!

I don't think a number 1 album is as important to them as a massive single (SM), but it would have been nice after seeing how close it was for them to see them put up more of a fight and for them to become the first girl group to get 2 studio album #1's across 2 different decades (a feat I wasn't aware of until yesterday! Aha)

But I'm so proud that they're still even battling for #1 albums so long into their career. So proud of them and their success! I'm hoping they can stay top 10 next week considering there's about 5 albums that could debut top 5.

So next week top 10 is the goal!

It still isn’t over...

They could actually go to #1 another week.

If I were them, I’d actually consider releasing some signed or a Christmas bundle on pre-order whilst pushing SM and try and get the double.

I prefer this album to have longevity instead of bloated first week sales. We know Kylie will free-fall down the charts next week since her fans won't be buying 100 copies each. In the long run, our girls will outsell Kylie if they continue with promo and releasing singles.
I’m happy with the sales but gutted they’re likely not to be #1 at the same time.
Their team were misguided to see Kylie as less of a threat than Ariana tbh.
Ugh sad. They could have easily won if they had decent bundles/signings like Kylie. The label didn't try hard enough.

Maybe they just weren’t actually that intent on going in hard though, to avoid sales dropping away like a stone next week.

I actually think LM will be ahead of Kylie next week..

A massive drop looks worse than having a #1 to be honest.

It’s hard to know what to do, but Kylie’s sales will absolutely crash next week.

It is kinda bizarre that it's album release week (biggest time of an artists career) and they only had EMA's...and used their Search performance on a 5 year old ballad instead of a new track from Confetti.

I know there's not much TV they can do but surely interviews on This Morning, Loose Women, One Show etc is better than nothing?

Just imagine if they performed I' A Mess :cheeseblock:
