It’s nice to see such an old song still be relevant enough to be in the chart

I love a lot of retro music but 'White Christmas' doesn't really do it for me that much unfortunately, a bit dull.

G'won 'Sleigh Ride' *.*

Not a fan of all these OLD Xmas songs. :(
I hope Camila & DaBaby haven’t been lumbered with a #41 peak

It's going to be top 40 next week, extremely comfortably. It really doesn't matter.

Sleigh Ride should've been played :( :(

Biography

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in London in 1996. Vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion met at University College London and began playing music together from 1996 to 1998, first calling themselves Pectoralz and then Starfish before finally changing their name to Coldplay. Creative director and former manager Phil Harvey is often referred to as the fifth member by the band. After changing their name to Coldplay, they recorded and released two EPs: Safety in 1998 and The Blue Room in 1999. The latter was their first release on a major record label, after signing to Parlophone.

Coldplay achieved worldwide fame with the release of the song "Yellow" in 2000, followed in the same year by their debut album Parachutes, which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band's second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), was released to critical acclaim and won many awards, including NME's Album of the Year. Their next release, X&Y, the best-selling album worldwide in 2005, received mostly positive reviews, though some critics felt it was inferior to its predecessor. Their fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), the best-selling album worldwide of 2008, was produced by Brian Eno and released to largely positive reviews, earning three Grammy Awards. In October 2011, Coldplay released their fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, which topped the charts in over 34 countries, was the UK's best-selling rock album of 2011, and received moderately positive reviews. Their sixth album, Ghost Stories, released in 2014, received mixed reviews and topped several national album charts. The following year the band released their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, which reached the top two in most major markets, but received generally mixed reviews. Four years later, in November 2019, they released their eighth album, Everyday Life, which received mainly positive reviews.

Coldplay have won numerous awards throughout their career, including nine Brit Awards, six MTV Video Music Awards, seven MTV Europe Music Awards and seven Grammy Awards from 29 nominations. They have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling music artists. Three of their albums—Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y—are among the best-selling albums in UK chart history. In December 2009, Rolling Stone readers voted the group the fourth-best artist of the 2000s. Coldplay have supported various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. They have also performed at charity projects, including Band Aid 20, Live 8, Global Citizen Festival, Sound Relief, Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, One Love Manchester, The Secret Policeman's Ball, Sport Relief and the UK Teenage Cancer Trust. - Wikipedia

I love Christmas Lights, definitely one of the best recent-ish Christmas tracks
It’s a good job we have permanent ACR on songs 3 years or older otherwise the whole top 40 would be filled with Xmas songs

Edited by Hadji

It's lovely to hear 'Christmas Lights'

On Christmas day I was unwrapping a gift that turned out to be their new album 'Everyday Life' on vinyl... while 'Christmas Lights' was playing on the tv  spooky.

It’s a good job we have permanent ACR on songs 3 years or older otherwise the whole top 40 would be filled with Xmas songs

I lowkey would like to live in that world

and now they skip Jingle Bell Rock too which makes its first top 40 appearance ever.

Top 5 in America. Always has been more popular there.

So glad Christmas Lights is being played this evening, really pleased to see it at its highest position since the year it came out too!

Biography

The Plastic Ono Band is a band formed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1969 as a vehicle for their collaborative and solo projects.

Lennon and Ono had begun a personal and artistic relationship in 1968, collaborating on several experimental releases. Following their marriage in 1969, they decided that all of their future endeavours would be credited to a conceptual and collaborative vehicle, Plastic Ono Band. The band would go on to feature a rotating lineup of many musicians, including Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann, Alan White, Billy Preston, Jim Keltner, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, and Lennon's former Beatles bandmates George Harrison and Ringo Starr. After the Lennons' move to New York, they began collaborating with Elephant's Memory, under the moniker of the "Plastic Ono Elephant's Memory Band". Lennon's collaborations continued under similar names, until the winding down of the concept in 1974.

Since 2009 (following the death of Lennon in 1980), Ono and her son Sean Lennon have led a new incarnation of the group, known as the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, which has engaged in many new activities. - Wikipedia

Haven't heard the young duo make a mistake yet. They're doing good. On until 7 too.
This is such a classic, I love this :)
SO happy they're playing the original of 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' as it's my favourite Christmas song  the John Legend version to be skipped please
Interesting to see some of these Christmas songs charting 10 places lower than they did last year!
