Voter suppression. Absurd anti-democratic actions, done for no discernible other reason, if this were in an African or Latin American country would see foreign observers from Western countries wagging their fingers and probably talking about peacekeeping interventions in the name of democracy.

Well the video he put on Twitter he seemed fine, or at least wasn’t showing any obvious symptoms.

And the problem is that the Democratic Party, as evidenced by their dropping of negative ads, isn't equipped to fight this sort of relentless rule-breaking by the Republican Party. They're too wedded to the belief that if you go against the democratic system, you will get democratically punished and voted out*.

 

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Dishonest actions like these have to be met with a response that ensures they do not happen again.

 

(*Or they just don't care and will sit back and articulate how wrong this is from the sidelines. Little bit of both.)

Ehh, I don't know about that. He looked really pale, the orangeness was faded, his face was scrunched, he did not look well. Seemed like the sort of thing they just managed to get him standing up for 20 seconds for before he collapsed in pain and they had to get the doctors rushing in from off-camera.

At the time of the 2000 election fiasco I was astonished at how much power politicians had in deciding how the election should be conducted in their state or county. The fact that one of those politicians just happened to be the brother of one of the presidential candidates just made it appear even less democratic. It just obvious to me that, in an election, the same rules should apply to all voters.

 

In the twenty years since then, nothing has been done to ensure some sort of level playing field across the country. In fact, the disparities and the blatantly political rule changes have got steadily worse.

 

In the UK, governments can be challenged in the courts which means that blatantly political changes could be ruled unlawful. This government wants to change that which would make it easier for them to change the rules in a way that discriminates against their opponents.

As much as I think rising above the dirty slimey and downright EVIL Republican methods is a good thing, I definitely agree. This shit never ends and it's exhausting enough to view it from the sidelines. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for the people this directly affects.

Yes sounds like he's attended events without a mask whilst knowing he had tested positive. A former WH communications director saying yes he knew on Tuesday and should have told Biden and given him a chance to pull out if he wanted. Also shouldn't have attended any events or at least wore a mask. Wouldn't you think his staff should have insisted on all of this? :rolleyes:

 

Sky saying he's restless now and wants to leave hospital but has been told he can't. His fever has gone down though.
