October 29, 20204 yr Best thing is, most of the Soy sauce in the UK comes in via the EU so it'll be stuck in the border chaos and will get more expensive (EU has a 0% deal with Japan) because of the additional costs of getting it from the EU to the UK. Eejits OMG my wife and her friends won't be pleased. Filipinos use loads of it. I can't stand it. Edited October 29, 20204 yr by Sixth Sense
October 29, 20204 yr It just tastes of salt Yes it does. Can't be healthy. Another they love is Squid Brand fish sauce and that's very salty too.
November 1, 20204 yr Author I'm guessing Boris and Frost are waiting for the result of the US election before capitulating and compromising for a deal. If Trump wins - all bets are off.
November 1, 20204 yr I'm guessing Boris and Frost are waiting for the result of the US election before capitulating and compromising for a deal. If Trump wins - all bets are off. Yep, probably! I expect a deal will miraculously be reached by the end of the week if Biden wins. Who knows if it's a Trump win
November 1, 20204 yr I'm guessing Boris and Frost are waiting for the result of the US election before capitulating and compromising for a deal. If Trump wins - all bets are off. That's what was being rumoured. A Biden win would not only be good for the US, but good for the UK as well as it'll force Boris & co to try for a "decent" deal with the EU.
November 7, 20204 yr Author @1306334039557586944 A reminder of what Biden has said about the UK planning to 'break International Law in a very specific and limited way'. Haha, hard luck Boris. :D
November 14, 20204 yr More news on the lorry park in Kent. Apparently, it's on a flood plain. Thankfully, it is likely to be at its busiest in January and February which, as we all know, are months when rain is almost unheard of.
November 15, 20204 yr Not long to go now. They're cutting it a bit fine with any trade deal. Doesn't it have to be still ratiified by each parliament?
November 15, 20204 yr Not long to go now. They're cutting it a bit fine with any trade deal. Doesn't it have to be still ratiified by each parliament? Yes, it does. The EU is, after all, a democratically-run organisation.
November 15, 20204 yr Yes, it does. The EU is, after all, a democratically-run organisation. I thought it did. So not many weeks for that to happen is there really? Would have to be pushed through quickly.
November 23, 20204 yr @1330850414917455873 That’s about 30.000 jobs going to be lost in Sunderland in a pandemic. They were explicitly warned by Nissan and they voted for Brexit anyway. You reap what you sow. I have said for over four years this plant would close. Nissan are controlled by Renault, 15% of Renault is owned by the French state. The pandemic has hit car manufacturers hard and for the alliance closing Sunderland is a shittonne easier than closing a french Factory politically and from a PR perspective on the continent. The UK isn’t even that important a market to Renault whereas losing market share in France would be far more devastating than a few bits of gammon boycotting a brand they’d never buy anyway
November 24, 20204 yr Nissan have dismissed it: https://www.sunderlandecho.com/business/nis...d-plant-3045230
November 24, 20204 yr With no on the record quote tho. I wouldn’t be sleeping easy if I was employed by Nissan or in the supply chain.
November 25, 20204 yr Great report from Ch4 News tonight from an Oven making factory in the midlands that don’t know whether they will be able to supply new ovens to Ireland from 1st Jan because the ‘oven ready brexit deal’ hasn’t been agreed yet 😅
November 28, 20204 yr So the EU yesterday offered us a deal which meant we'd keep 18% of our fish. Rubbish and Boris has rightfully rejected it. The EU must think we're stupid to accept that just to get a deal through.

November 28, 20204 yr They probably just think we’re stupid anyway and who can blame them? They think we'll just accept anything to get a deal right at the last minute but that's just derisory. Let's have no deal and keep all our fish as someone's just said on Twitter.
