September 24, 20204 yr I don't like the word remoaner. I think it's disrespectful and don't use it. Bullshit. Oh of course the Remoaners will say that when most of it has nothing whatsoever to do with Brexit.
September 24, 20204 yr It's funny that the message now seems to be 'it'll be tough but we will be strong and get through it and prove we're great etc.', what happened to 'we'll be stronger outside the EU' or all these supposed benefits? I'm still all ears, four years on, how this is in any logical way, the right way forward for the country

I'm still all ears, four years on, how this is in any logical way, the right way forward for the country Here we go then. 1. And for me and many other Brexiteers far and way the most important and why many of us voted leave and would vote leave again today: We'll be able to pick and choose who enters our country and can accept EU members on merit ie Dr's, scientists, engineers, pharmacists, vets, nurses, like we do now from non-eu countries. (eg all the Filipino nurses who come and are made welcome every year!) EU members can't just waltz in here from Jan. 1st and deplete all our public services. 2. We can make all our own laws without being subjective to pleasing the EU to or some UK law being at odds with EU law. 3. Choose whom we trade with on our own terms and those of our new trading partners of course. There you have it doubters. Happy times ahead. Good times for our children and grandchildren. We have always been able to accept doctors on merit. If they are not qualified, they can't get a job as a doctor. Why do you want to deny a qualified Briton the chance to work in any EU country without having to worry about a load of red tape? Why don't you want a British company to be able to trade with a customer in Chateauneuf just as easily as they can trade with a customer in Newcastle? Give an example of a law a government wanted to introduce but couldn't due to our membership of the EU. Why would a country give the UK a better deal than the one they would give the EU? We have always been able to trade with any country we like with a few exceptions such as North Korea.
September 24, 20204 yr Well that's me told. It's like economic suicide, food shortages, damage to health services and uncertain trade deals to a country already hit hard by a pandemic just doesn't matter anymore cos ultimately it's....ours now? Yeah, I'm convinced.
September 25, 20204 yr I've been saying this for years. Every truck has to be stopped, it's even things you don't even realise, like labelling of ingredients etc. - its going to be utter carnage and hold the supply chain up. Every major FMCG has been saying this. The only good thing in this current economic climate is you will need a shitton of temp admin/clerical officers to process everything. They won’t though brecit will just be a mirage in terms of trade and immigration it’s the political power the Tory brediteers want the rest of the things the people voted for will be ignored.
September 26, 20204 yr At the virtual Lib Dem conference today, I posed the question of whether the short-term priority for the party (in the event of being able to work with a minority Labour government after the next election) should be PR or rejoining the EU. The consensus (by quite a long way, albeit with only a small sample) was for PR. Part of the logic was that the best way of ensuring a future government with a minority of the vote could not take us out of the EU again is to have PR.

October 1, 20204 yr Any news on how the trade talks are going? Everything's gone very quiet. Don't know if that augers well or not.
October 1, 20204 yr The EU started legal proceedings against the UK for violating the WA today. That is how talks are going. Outside your brexit press echo chamber the is still news about the talks. The European Press notes that the UK remains stuck in "cake & eat it" mode. There is no way we end up with a deal. But that was completely obvious from last July when this bumbling f***wit became PM. Since then has always been a matter of when we crash out without a deal rather than if.
October 7, 20204 yr Author @1313833142499913729 So this time next week we should know whether a comprehensive deal (for what should happen after 31st December and the Transition period ends) is achieved or not. Whatever happens, the outcomes for the UK look increasingly dire for 2021.
October 7, 20204 yr Michael Gove says there's a "66% chance of a deal" so that sounds hopeful. He also said to blame him if there are long delays in Kent in January.
October 7, 20204 yr Michael Gove says there's a "66% chance of a deal" so that sounds hopeful. He also said to blame him if there are long delays in Kent in January. It’s not that hopeful. It’s sounds like a made up figure.
October 7, 20204 yr It’s not that hopeful. It’s sounds like a made up figure. Well at a conference today he was asked to give a figure and he said that and not less.
October 7, 20204 yr Well at a conference today he was asked to give a figure and he said that and not less. He produced a figure that was just enough of a percentage over 50 to keep people like you satisfied but not near enough 100 to actually commit to the idea of having a deal.
October 7, 20204 yr Michael Gove says there's a "66% chance of a deal" so that sounds hopeful. He also said to blame him if there are long delays in Kent in January. Oh he can rest quite assured that he was one of the c**ts getting blamed for the queues anyway. We certainly don’t need an invite to blame him
October 7, 20204 yr @1313833142499913729 So this time next week we should know whether a comprehensive deal (for what should happen after 31st December and the Transition period ends) is achieved or not. Whatever happens, the outcomes for the UK look increasingly dire for 2021. Pretty sure it's a bluff though. From what I've read Lord Frost said we could walk away, not that we would. The main area of contention appears to be fishing - which I have a feeling will be dealt with at the last minute with the UK giving large concessions. As incompetent as the government are, they know full well they will not survive a no deal brexit + fallout from Covid. We'll likely see something along the lines of Boris saying "After all this hard work, we've got a great deal for the british people."
October 8, 20204 yr I think there will be a Deal. I agree it will be pretty last minute. I cannot in ANY WAY think that the Government think No Deal is a good deal for the majority of the working population. All the major food and beverage players will be putting the cost on to the consumers, so your average shop is going to go up in price. Can't see any way the Government think this is a good idea at the best of times, not least with the country still in a healthcare pandemic.. if this is all over some bloody fish, hopefully somebody slaps Gove round the face with a nice oily Cod.
October 11, 20204 yr Author This government is already panicking about Biden getting in. Looks like some serious rowing backwards and major concessions forthcoming from the UK in the next few weeks!! @1315068943510446081
