'Dangerous Woman' was one of her biggest growers for me! The final chorus has got to be one of her finest vocal moments to date, it's truly thrilling whenever she performs that part live. 'Dangerous Woman' is something a bit different in her singles discography for sure with its rocky edge.

Pleased that the averages are up to 8+ now! The top 10 is definitely all-killer no filler... but what will drop out tomorrow in 11th? :o

Surprised that 'Dangerous Woman' only managed a #17 peak on the UK charts, deserved at least a top 10 peak.

Dangerous Woman probably holds the record for the song I've listened to most in 1 day. I was obsessed with it on it's release day and spent almost all the time I wasn't at school with it on.

I'm disappointed it's missed out on the top 10 here :( It's so different to nearly everything else she has done with its rockier elements that makes it such a standout track in her discography. A massive highlight of her tours too, both times I've been fortunate enough to hear it live, it has been heavenly.

Should have been in a Bond film or something, I feel like it's big but it should have been gigantic! #1s all over, one of her biggest sellers etc.
Dangerous Woman is phenomenal. It blew me away with just how much more mature it was for her. In fact, it's still feels so surreal that it came so early in her career. It is a timeless classic for me and has aged beautifully. I'm gutted it missed the top 10! :(

I thought Side to Side May have been higher but I’d say it left at the right time.

It’s basically like a better version of LMs Woman Like Me but not that great.

Dangerous Woman is about right as well. It’s good but she’s done so much better.

The Dangerous Woman era was pants for singles though like aside from Into You I’d say my next 5 faves from that era are all album tracks.

11 8.13 Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea)

Highest: LewisGT (11), ...ready for it, Tawdry Hepburn, Cqmerqn, SamJudd, Jupiter + JosephStyles (10) / Lowest: George.keh (2), blacksquare (3)

Just missing out on a spot in the top 10 is 'Problem'! This was the first instance of Ariana's fame catapulting to a brand new level. It was the lead single from her second studio album 'My Everything' and features Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who was still a commercial force at the time. It also features uncredited whisper vocals from now ex-boyfriend Big Sean, who also appears in the video. Ariana achieved her first U.K. top 40 single in style as 'Problem' was a #1 hit! That more than made up for 'The Way's frustrating #41 near miss just one year previously. It was huge across the world too, as it reached #2 in the U.S. and became her first YouTube video to cross 1 billion views.

'Problem' took Ariana's R&B roots from 'Yours Truly' and meshed them with a more pop sound. The song is about being scared to go back to a relationship that has gone sour, but wanting to do so nevertheless. Iggy contributed her own sassy rap that is rounded off with a reference to '99 Problems' by Jay-Z. The production is very distinctive with its horn-heavy sound, an approach that was bang on trend at the time, with Jason Derulo and Cheryl also achieving #1s with this sound. The music video has a real retro feel to it, from the black-and-white shots to Iggy's beehive hair-do. It's clear that Ariana was still finding her feet with lip-synching and learning how to command a video. But elements such as her star power, diction and musical style would evolve a lot over the years! One thing remains unchanged though - her natural vocal talent. She served some impressive notes during the bridge here.

We were so close to having four 'My Everything' singles in the the top 10 of this rate but sadly it was not to be! Some of you helped out as best as you could though - especially my co-mod Lewis who deemed 'Problem' his favourite song in the rate! 'Problem' gained plenty of 10s too but was dragged down by the lower 2 and 3 scores. Time to find out in the coming days how well 'Break Free', 'Love Me Harder' and 'One Last Time' can represent the 'My Everything' era, in amongst newer material and 'Santa Tell Me'. The top 10 is just around the corner, exciting!

I loved 'Problem' a lot at the time, it was a top 5 hit in my chart, but it's naturally aged a bit nearly 6 years later. Not an absolute Ariana favourite now but still good fun!

Problem should have been in the top 10 :( :( :(

It was released just when I was starting to get obsessed with Ariana and I was so hyped during the countdown for its release. I was so happy it got the UK #1 and I remember following it very closely hoping it could do the same in the US.

It's still by far the most successful song in my personal chart with 54 weeks in my top 20.

'Problem' was a great sort of introduction (at least commercially) to Ariana in the UK, very colourful production & those blaring horns that gives it so much charm, but does date it somewhat along with having Iggy Azalea on there back when she was relevant (remember 2014). Luckily Ariana would go on to a brighter & bigger future & this was a great starting off point. Still a fun listen 6 years on.
I still adore 'Problem' just as much, I know it's very indicative of a time in history but it hasn't necessarily aged for me. I love those horns and the rumbling bassline through the Big Sean bits. It's great.

10 8.19 Santa Tell Me

Highest: ...ready for it, Jonjo, Cqmerqn, Jade, LMLou (10) / Lowest: Jupiter (5)

Edging its way into the top 10 is Santa Tell Me, Ari's Christmas single from 2014. Lyrically, the song is about Ariana asking Santa to stop her falling in love with her crush if he won't be there next year, and it's theorised it's about Ariana's concerns about starting her relationship with Big Sean just a couple of months after breaking up with YouTuber Jai Brooks. It's a brilliant showcase of Ariana's traditional R&B-infused pop, with a Christmas sparkle added to it of course. Initially, Santa Tell Me made small waves, peaking at #42 in the US and initially only making #68 in the UK. It's since repeaked at #13 in the UK, cementing itself as a seasonal favourite each year! It's really grown on me over the years too, it's aged really well, and it's so easy to see why it's done well here.

Santa Tell Me is far too high here.

It's a really sweet song but, for me, it's in no way deserving of finishing higher than some of the songs it has blocked from the top 10 (especially Problem). :(

Surprised at Santa Tell Me finishing above Problem, both decent but would have preferred them to have swapped places!

Embarrassing a Christmas song finishing that high. 5 was kind of me.

Would it be possible for someone to post the remaining songs for us to guess? (Grand if you have something else planned tho ofc :P)

I'll put it in spoiler tags in case anyone doesn't want to know but the 9 songs left, in alphabetical, order are...

7 Rings

Break Free

Breathin

God Is A Woman

Into You

Love Me Harder

No Tears Left To Cry

One Last Time

Thank U, Next

I agree that ‘Santa Tell Me’ has aged well  it’s really cementing itself as a modern festive smash! I love hearing it during the winter months each year, that expands to all of Ariana’s Christmas music really.
