I know it’s a first world problem, but my cleaners have just shut down and so now I need to order a decent vacuum cleaner, anyone got any suggestions?

Yes!! Shark. They’re like a good Dyson but with the added bonus of not supporting a delusional brexiteer f***wit!

I just got the wee handheld WV251EU off Saturn and it’s amazing. I’m a huge fan.

Yes I know how sad this post is. I’m 30 now so back off I get to be excited about home appliances now that I’m basically dead.

Yep. Same here.

I went back today and the office was as busy as ever. About 80 members of staff in total. We hot desk (change desks every shift) plus I had a coach sitting directly next to me breathing all over me and talking to me and I could smell his breath. About three feet away to my right and behind me were other staff members at their computers too. It's disgustingly close and uncomfortable.

Like, I'm glad Boris is doing something but these companies need to f***ing look after their staff. It's 2020! Why aren't work from home options - especially when it comes to call centres - so much more accessible?

We've stopped hot desking but there's probably about 100+ people on my floor alone then there's another 2 floors m, canteen etc, they currently have people doing triple time overtime open 8am-9pm. We're all less than 2 metres apart from each other.

Correct steps delivered clearly. Hopefully a positive step as it has seemed to have worked for other countries. Will doubtless be a few idiots that attempt to resist, but then again what else do you expect when beaches were full at the weekend?! Hopefully the public transport is similarly policed.

I honestly don't mind the whole staying in thing, I do that to a lesser extent most normal days anyway :kink: Shopping will be harder though

I’m much the same. Staying in doesn’t bother me at all but it’s food shopping that concerns me. I’d love just to have deliveries but they’re so stretched and I’m so low down on the priority list.

One of my friends tried to book with Tesco and they had no slots until after April 12th!! How are people supposed to get home deliveries when there’s no service?
This'll be no different to social distancing in terms of my everyday life, I still have to go to work and I wasn't seeing anyone anyway, just going to work, coming home. But it had to be done! I'm dreading having to go into work tomorrow, I'll find it hard to bite my tongue if the usual idiots feel the need to waltz in multiple imes a day like nothing has happened for an energy drink and a 4 pack of Stella

You can't realistically. I tried last Friday to book a slot for my in-laws who are about 80 and I couldn't get a slot before April 6th with any supermarket.

I don’t mind going to the supermarket but I’m worried the panic buying freaks will be all over them. I suppose they might stop now they’re in lockdown and have stockpiled enough but these people have been so stupid so far I can’t see them not getting more stupid with this news.

I’m good for food until at least Friday though. We’ll see how it goes.

My work hasn't been that bad today (or yesterday), we actually had bread and milk all day! I'm hoping people have gone back to normal but then equally it being as serious as "lockdown" might send people back into panic stations
I really need to get some tablets soon but I can't face the rush to the stores than will undoubtedly happen tomorrow... I'm going to wait and hope for the best.

We've been alternating going into work and sitting two desks apart and working from home.

Now we're going to be working from home 100% of the time.

I'm Ok with that. I'm just glad I've still got a job.

The worst part for me is I can't hug my daughters or my little grand daughter and that makes me sad. -_-

I know everyone is in the same boat and we just have to get on with it.

If we do then the quicker it will be over.

Support each other and thank goodness for Facetime.

Gonna tape the phone from the office to me tomorrow and speed dial 999 when Sandra comes in for a £1 scratchcard when she already bought wine and crisps earlier x

What about the self-employed ?

They've not made any provision.

My dad is an self employed gardener, he is staying in or not? He can't work from home.

Only a small group of retailers will be allowed to stay open including:

Supermarkets

Pharmacies

Newsagents

Hardware stores

Banks

Pet shops

Post Offices

Petrol stations

Vets

Retail shops in hospitals

Laundrettes

Funeral homes

What aboot barbers?? In Spain they kept hairdressers open.

I was probably overdue a haircut before this and now I'm just gonna have to embrace the Cast Away aesthetic.
