It's 'album-only' because it's over 10 minutes long (don't think iTunes allows 10+ minute songs to be downloaded separately), the 'album' is still just a 1 track single so purchasing it still counts to the songs chart, if that makes sense.

 

At nearly 17 minutes long this must be close to if not the longest song to ever appear in the top 10 of iTunes! (Up to #4 now).

Bounce Back actually spent two days at #1 on iTunes (which I think proves your point even more!)

I thought initially Bob Dylan appearing on the itunes chart was due to another reason. Glad to hear it isn't.

The fact that fanbase buys usually last about 12 - 15 hours on iTunes until airplay and video play kick in? (I checked earlier and it was reported about 530pm that Gaga started having red updates)

 

Bounce Back had a video released straight away and had instant A-List support by Radio 1. So I definitely didn't expect this to hold up as strongly at number 1. However, the real test is if it can manage to hold up after free falling with lack of radio support.
