March 31, 20206 yr 5SOS signed CD has been reduced to £6.99 with a % of the sale price going to the NHS COVID-19 fund  https://store.universalmusic.com/5sos/*/*/C...ARD/6FUU0000000
March 31, 20206 yr A new Bundle of 5SOS is up also, she must discount her album NOW. CALM CD + SIGNED CARD in 6.99
March 31, 20206 yr ^^ Dua already reduced her album to £5 yesterday hence the big jump - 5SOS have apart from the signed CD for £6.99 just announced a competition for anyone buying the album, I’m sure one of them will reduce the iTunes price today too.
March 31, 20206 yr ^^ Dua already reduced her album to £5 yesterday hence the big jump - 5SOS have apart from the signed CD for £6.99 just announced a competition for anyone buying the album, I’m sure one of them will reduce the iTunes price today too. Hopefully her first! But I'm sure they will before her.
March 31, 20206 yr by now all 5sos uk fans must have 5 CD copies and 5 cassettes each... not sure there are more fans out there that could potentially buy it :D the occ should investigate, it's borderline bulk buying ;D
March 31, 20206 yr UK OCC Tuesday update 1 CALM (19.84k)* 2 FUTURE NOSTALGIA (16.86k)* Yes Dua! I'm not as optimistic as most about her overtaking. It seems 5SOS are going to any length to secure the #1 - the COVID-19 charity angle is a new one. Dua should announce all her first week sales will go towards the NHS. :kink:
March 31, 20206 yr Really hoping Dua can do it, it would be so frustrating to see an incredible album come to close to #1 but miss out, kinda in the same way DSN did in the singles charts
March 31, 20206 yr I think even if Dua missed out this week, she would climb to #1 in week 2 (it doesn't seem like there's any particularly major releases next week, unless I'm overlooking something). However she looks safe to make it to #1 this week. Her streaming gives her a major advantage over 5SOS. Even if 5SOS manage to encourage a lot more physical sales in the next few days, Dua's doing the same with her CD. Maybe I've jinxed Dua with this post though :kink: 5 Seconds of Summer are a great band and under normal circumstances (i.e. Dua not moving her release forward a week) I would have been very pleased to see them get to #1! I prefer Dua though, so I'd like to see her enter at #1.
March 31, 20206 yr I mean, going by that update, 5SOS are continuing to sell at the same rate they were on the Monday update, whilst Dua Lipa is up 1.6k(!) on the rate she was selling at (she sold 4.6k yesterday).

March 31, 20206 yr That's actually really kinda gross that they're using the pandemic to bolster their sales... They’ve been doing it since Friday - it’s not a new thing in the fight against Dua and they are doing it in every country for the local health organisation.
March 31, 20206 yr HMV data is entirely missing still btw. Who do we think that might tip the scales in favour of?
March 31, 20206 yr That's actually really kinda gross that they're using the pandemic to bolster their sales... Agreed
March 31, 20206 yr Who do we think that might tip the scales in favour of? I would guess a boy band like 5 Seconds!
March 31, 20206 yr They’ve been doing it since Friday - it’s not a new thing in the fight against Dua and they are doing it in every country for the local health organisation. It doesn't really matter whether they're doing it for the chart battle or not, the fact that they're trying to get people to buy their music at all by using the pandemic as an incentive is gross to me. It just feels really off.
