March 31, 20206 yr It doesn't really matter whether they're doing it for the chart battle or not, the fact that they're trying to get people to buy their music at all by using the pandemic as an incentive is gross to me. It just feels really off. Giving thousands to a heath organisation is off?! It’s been happening for years with charity releases giving a % to different organisations.
March 31, 20206 yr All Time Low are releasing an album on Friday - how did their last one do in the first week? (though this one is having a much better fan reception than that one)
March 31, 20206 yr The last All Time Low album did 14.7k first week to debut at #7 - that is probably a bigger release than anything that was on the release schedule when I checked the other day, idk how resilient their fanbase will really be though. That album had a drop of around 5k first week sales from the album before it which got to #1. Can't rule them out for next week I guess ~

That's fine if you disagree, I just think it's really gross and self serving. There are much better ways to get people to donate, or you know... use your own millions to donate to the health organisation as opposed to the people currently furloughed/losing their jobs. But each to their own.
