so desperate, they should stop milking their fans....its pathetic

Dua deserves the number 1 album, Future Nostalgia is one of the best pop albums to come out the last 10 years...

No more desperate from their side as from Dua's side. Loving how salty ppl are being, part of the battle is the promotion. It's never just been about the music when it comes to the Charts.

it is, especially when it comes to the distinction between a great pop album with strong solid hits and a boy band feeding a bunch of crazed fans multiple pointless versions of an insipid album...

This boxset seems a bit pointless for that price at the moment, who on earth is going to fork out that amount of money when you need to buy food.

Furthermore, why buy a boxset, when they already own the originals, what a waste of money.

Taste is subjective. There's crazy fans buying multiple pointless versions of Dua's album too.

Let people buy what they want. If they want to waste money just to help someone who doesn't even know they exist get a #1 album let them do it, but let's not act like it's only one fanbase that's doing it.

The sales details show which fanbase in this chart battle is buying multiple formats and who is having more streaming figures and download sales so the answer is obvious that Dua Lipa's fan base is more of a normal one here.

Taste is subjective but we can't deny the fact that Dua's album has received universal acclaim and is regarded as one of the best pop albums in years, it would be unfair for it to be beaten by multiple format sales with 10 cassettes with a different cover🤦🏻‍♂️

Goooooo Dua😍

It’s the fans they do this for! At least it shows they want to give them a chart battle. If the fans want to spend their money on these various versions, that is their choice. No one is forcing them.

A chart battle is a fun distraction from everything else right now. Rooting for Dua myself.

This

They have both encouraged multi buying equally - signed versions, price reductions, bundles, different coloured cassettes and now Dua has reduced the download price.

I have to say though I bet Dua’s team never in a million years thought they would have to fight so hard in release week and slash the price of the album considering the singles success she’s had this era versus 5SOS

Yeah It does seem odd that she is (at this time) trailing - whilst I know 5SOS have multiple platforms etc, but then as you say Dua does too and she has in the last year had much more success.

question: are those 3 cassette bundle thing counted as 3 sales?

like 5sos's 4 cassette+1 CD = 5 sales?

Yes - each item in each bundle counts as an individual sale.

Goooooo Dua😍

Ugh, posts like this are so irritating. I kinda want her to lose out just to wind you up.

Chill out. Whether it's #1 or #2 just enjoy the music and videos etc. It's still clearly going to be a hit album but you don't have to put down other albums or mock other fanbases to make Dua's album more 'deserving'. There's probably hundreds of 5SOS fans who think the album is also one of the best albums as well.

Like, I'm all for wanting my favourite artists to do well and see them get a top ten single and have a hit etc but this sorta obsessive competitiveness is cringey.

Dua is a wee bit like Rita Ora in terms of album sales imo, she doesn't seem to have a hardcore fanbase.

the two aren't really comparable - Dua is a lot bigger, her debut album is still comfortably in the top 40 having never left the top 75 since its debut, whilst Phoenix left the chart a while ago (and infamously missed the top 10 (due to when it was released, I know)).

she clearly doesn't have as many hardcore stans as 5SOS looking at the sales data but outweighs them significantly in casual fans. even still she'd comfortably out-debut Rita if they went head-to-head.

I disagree, I think Dua has much more of a fanbase than Rita
