April 24, 20206 yr Happy for Captain Tom getting the #1 for his 100th birthday. Blinding Lights has already had it's time at the top after all.

April 24, 20206 yr Sounded like Scott said Blinding Lights was actually ahead yesterday?! Ah well, Blinding Lights back to #1 next week I'm sure!
April 24, 20206 yr Impressive indeed to see two charity singles top five, amazing for Times Like These in such a huge window. A huge achievement for Captain Tom, and actually too for Michael Ball who had probably written off ever having a No.1 single a long time ago. To think it's nearly 30 years since he represented the UK at Eurovision!
April 24, 20206 yr Fourth time You'll Never Walk Alone was #1 (Gerry, Crowd, R&J) Michael Ball bettering the peak of Love Changes Everything 31 years later
April 24, 20206 yr Woooooo.. captain tom did it. I wonder if the occ fudged its thursday calculations. Cant wait to see the sales report of how close it was.
April 24, 20206 yr 01 | | 1st week Michael Ball, Captain Tom Moore and The NHS Voices of Care Choir You'll Never Walk Alone FANTASTIC NEWS! Instead of singing happy birthday to him Ben Fogle should agree to have this song played loudly
April 24, 20206 yr Woooooo.. captain tom did it. I wonder if the occ fudged its thursday calculations. Cant wait to see the sales report of how close it was. I don't think The Weeknd was ahead yesterday, I think it's a Scott error - but they were forecasting The Weeknd to overtake. Calculations weren't fudged, Captain Tom had a huge boost yesterday to secure the #1.
April 24, 20206 yr our courteous king letting a 100 year old war veteran have a #1 single  shame it’ll be replaced by that awful Times Like These cover next week :’)

April 24, 20206 yr Sounded like Scott said Blinding Lights was actually ahead yesterday?! Ah well, Blinding Lights back to #1 next week I'm sure! Does Times Like These not have a good shot? Seems amazing enough that it went top five in the space of a few hours. Songs with a huge head of steam like that have been known to slow down massively before though and not get to No.1 (Born This Way, Skyfall etc...)
April 24, 20206 yr Cool hearing Scott stating all the things that came through Toms life - born 32 years before the chart was born...
April 24, 20206 yr Woooooo.. captain tom did it. I wonder if the occ fudged its thursday calculations. Cant wait to see the sales report of how close it was. If they're suspiciously close I think we can be fairly confident they would have scaled up/down the numbers respectively, wouldn't be the first time recently. Could you really imagine them saying to Captain Tom "thanks but... your #2", not in any parallel universe. Ppl need a good story at the moment, and even more ridiculous would have been the "official" charts denying him #1 when the others said he was.
