I think love at first sight is well known and fairly liked outside the fan base, I think kylie herself ranks it well among her work as she always performs it. The single deserved much much more but it is building up its sales slowly with streaming. I always thought love at first sight should have the follow up to can't get you out of my head and not in your eyes, in your eyes should have been third.

I think it all worked out fine regardless, I rank them both almost equally in my affections and they both performed extremely well for singles from an album which had already sold bucketloads.
Before we knew is was up against Westlife in my head I thought kylie could get another number 1 following can't get you out of my head. I was very disappointed in your eyes also missed out on number 2.

I’m not sure having ‘Love at First Sight’ as second single would necessarily mean it would have performed any better. It sounds perfect for the summer, had the added initiative to purchase due to the ‘Can’t Get Blue Monday Out of My Head’ mashup (which was gaining significant airplay itself) and coincided with the UK tour dates.
The blue Monday addition really built my hopes high for number 1 especially after the iconic performance of it at the Brits.

I wouldn't even necessarily mind, but that thing that kept it off #1 is so f***ing dreadful it's unreal. Although it wasn't even close so I can't argue.

Aw I do like Elvis vs. JXL tbf! Shame she didn’t release the week before as she would have beaten Will Young’s second week, but tbf her 80k that she sold wouldn’t usually get her to #1 in most of the weeks of 2002. And like you say it wasn’t close at all between her and Elvis either.

I hated a little less conversation and still do but as you said it wasn't even a close battle. The week earlier was the ideal release week but

unfortunately it did work out that way.

"Can't Get You Out Of My Head" has received a 3x Platinum certification this week for selling 1.8 million :cheeseblock:

Amen. :cheeseblock:

Late to the party but there’s absolutely nothing I’d change about this era. Just bummed that she couldn’t get a 2nd no1 single from this album. Ironically my least favourite is the title track
