The semi final sees the elimination of Lady Gaga and her debut single 'Just Dance'! :o A shocking result considering Gaga won the End-of-Year Number One Survivor and Kylie looked to be the next one out in previous rounds. :o Gaga helped kick off a female-dominated start to 2009 - replacing Alexandra Burke at #1 to sit at the top spot for 3 weeks before Lily Allen's 'The Fear' dethroned her. What a time to witness the charts as a pop fan. :angel:

 

 

So two queens stand before us. One with an iconic track from 2001, another with the biggest-selling hit worldwide of the noughties. :o

Done. :D I even broke up the word FAVOURITE so no one would do this.

 

I've voted for Kylie too which is a bit shocking... I never appreciated the song at the time but that earworm hook and video makes me think it would be a deserving winner. In decades to come it will be seen as one of the main pop songs of the decade. B-)

The sitewide preference when these survivors started taking off in popularity was always to retain least favourite in the final round but I've noticed this year the inclination seems to have shifted to favourite in the final, kinda like an unwritten Buzzjack byelaw.

I really like both but I’ve gone for Kylie because it’s just THAT classic.

I don't have a problem with Kylie winning though. I just don't think it's her best song for me. Even Shakira has songs I love more than Hips!
