I thought Rita could have been low tbh, just as one note as Priyanka and Ilona were to me. I think she arguably had the most challenging role to make pop but it just wasn't good, plus they criticise her outfit and still she isn't low? :lol: I think Rita is brilliant but what she's bringing in challenges isn't matching the trajectory she's being given at all. It feels like they've decided she's won already in a way.

 

Meanwhile I don't think Jimbo's outfit was SO bad that it deserved low when she was the best in the challenge for me. The judging is just odd, they place too much emphasis on the runway constantly I feel. Of course it plays a part, but for it to drag down someone who arguably deserved to win the challenge to being low? I thought only Jimbo and Lemon were the only ones who were actually good in the challenge but Lemon could have done more I think, her runway was ICONIC though! Scarlett was ok I guess but kind of one-note, just not to the boring degree that Pri/Ilona/Rita were for me.

 

I know it doesn't REALLY matter when they got the right winner and bottom 2 but it just feels like what's the point in doing well in a challenge if the runway can drag you down that much? I did like the episode overall though, the petty drama and fighting over nothing was entertaining, that's what I kinda loved about Ilona :lol:

Lemon :wub: She really stepped up after the critiques last week, LOVED her runway look and she was great in the challenge too. Jimbo was amazing in the challenge too, but I do agree with the judges that her runway look was pretty shit.

I think I rewatched each of the Priyanka's lip syncs like 5 times. 'Hello' especially still KILLS me :') Surely she's already earned the lip sync assassin title across all seasons of Drag Race.

Loved the concept of this episode. Really heartwarming to see people who have literally fought for their right to be a queer person in the world get a chance to just live the dream and have some fun. Rainbow Railroad sounds like an incredible charity!

 

That being said, is this the most the judging has ever been off? I think the winner was correct, but I don't think Rita's makeover was THAT awful... I actually would have had Scarlett in the bottom for what was a pretty terrible pair of outfits :mellow: The makeup was great though and her partner did have a lot of fun, but I'm sure they ALL had a great time. Jimbo also unfairly judged for what I thought was a really great makeover - Jimbo is known for the dumb sexy schtick so why was it a problem this week? I also think that Lemon potentially won that lipsync, but then I don't think Rita should've been in the bottom so... it all worked out in the end? I did think Lemon would make it to the Top 4 though so it's a shame to see her out now.

 

That lipsync choice though !!!!!

Do you know what REALLY annoyed me in the judging this week? :lol: "I'm getting the familial vibes, but I'm getting mother and daughter rather than sisters" WHERE in the challenge did it say it had to be sisters?! They're making it up and changing the goalposts as they go along. Especially given Rita did a mother/daughter thing and they didn't read that, I get that she worked it into the story whereas Lemon didn't, but still. Why is it a problem for one queen but not another? Same with Jimbo, the comments read as "be yourself but in the way we've decided for you", as they do a lot of the time. When it comes to Jimbo they can never judge what's just there in front of them, it's always a case of what's not there that they've decided should be there. Everything about the look was Jimbo and he brought Eka into that world. Cock destroyers realness *.*

 

I think the placements were right other than Jimbo being robbed yet again, the right winner if not Jimbo, a simple but brilliant pair of looks presented very well with thought and care. Scarlett I thought had the worst pair of looks probably, but she presented it perfectly and they had great chemistry as a pair. Rita I don't think looked as bad as people are saying, I liked the story when she explained it, but the presentation was a mess as she tried to fit too much in. Lemon's paint on her partner was awwwwful and the presentation was bland. I just think there's such an inconsistency in what they want and they really need to specify it, that's a problem with Drag Race in general of late but it always comes out in makeover challenges!

 

There was NO contest n that lipsync, as much as I love Lemon with all my heart and wanted her to stay over Rita overall, for that song Rita absolutely embodied everything it needed to be. It's not a splits and stunts song, it's a song filled with emotion, anger and vitriol, Rita gave me all of that. Sometimes in a lipsync, less is more, and this is absolutely one of those songs where it's the case. That was one of my dream lipsync songs and Rita gave me exactly what I wanted from it :wub: Lemon was performing like it was an Ariana or Gaga song, not an Alanis song.

I did love the lil bits Lemon gave in the song :( The little quirks. Alanis is quite kitsch and goofy and honest with her lyrics so I thought it was nice to have that touch! Rita absolutely delivered though!!!
