With the highest percentage so far this game, Leona Lewis' winning single gets booted out in 5th place! Who knew 'That's My Goal' was the preferred song of the two?! :o 'A Moment Like This' was originally Kelly Clarkson's coronation single after winning the first season of American Idol back in 2002. Simon Cowell must have liked it so much he decided to use it for Leona the 2006 X Factor winner. Leona's version topped the charts for 4 weeks and was downloaded over 50,000 times in 30 minutes - giving Lewis the world record until Alexandra Burke came along! The song is very sentimental and cheesy but Leona's voice elevates it into a pretty decent record. Also the CD single included her X Factor performances of 'Summertime' and 'Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word'. :wub: Worthy purchase!

Right result there as I think Shaynes is still the best winners single imo.

 

Going for 'Umbrella'. It's definitely going to be top 2, likely win but I've

always found it overrated and even disliked it back then. Also like Kylie she has tons better songs!

I think because Shayne's was an original it gets less hate. But I actually much prefer the song itself anyway, probably my second fave XF winning single after Impossible.

 

Voting Pure And Simple now.

I mean there's very little difference between Shayne and Leona's songs tbf :P (I did think Leona would win though cos Leona, I admittedly do prefer Shayne's as it's got a bit more cheesy charm to it).

 

I do have a big soft spot for That's My Goal and Pure and Simple as they remind me of my childhood, but they are very cheesy and dated compared to the other two so definitely need to go next. Going for Shayne first~

I'm going with 'Pure and Simple' again. I remember both me and my sister getting the Shayne CD for Christmas. :lol: Thinking back to how everyone would have to wait for the Wednesday following the final to buy the winners' singles makes me feel nostalgic. :wub:
