I was obsessssssssssssed with 7 rings when it was new, but I think I overplayed it :o I've had quite a break from it, the last time I played it was back in January. It's sounding great again today :music:

 

thank u, next :heart: My favourite of the 3 singles! Full of memorable lyrics. I remember I was a bit "hmm-" about it after the first listen, but it only took another couple of plays to connect with me in a big way!

I actually prefer 'tu,n' to '7 rings'. It just makes such a statement.

#12 break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored

 

'Break Up' is one of her best songs for me. The lyrics are a god damn MOOD and the trap beat/sample is so irresistible! What a f***ing anthem

break up definitely felt like the right third single, what a hat-trick! Great album closer too.

What a closer!! :wub: I know this seems to divide people a bit but it's such a favourite for me. Possibly my favourite moment on the album in terms of production? :o

 

'thank u, next' and 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' an iconic back-to-back in terms of titles :cheeseblock:

I still enjoy '7 rings' but I can't help but feel it is bogged down a bit in my mind because I did get a little bored of it pretty quickly at the time - I almost feel like I'd think higher of it now if not for the fact I originally stanned it more if that makes sense? :lol:

 

'thank u, next' I was never a huge fan of, one of the weaker songs on the album but still decent.

Break Up... becoming the 3rd #1 on the album was amazing. Especially seeming that it was a last-minute replacement for a song Ari deemed 'too personal' to release. I would love to here 'Remember' someday.

 

This was so instant for me. It's just too catchy and she looks amazing in the video.

buwyg,cib is my favourite of the 3 singles, but again... since hearing the album there were songs that should have been singles over this, but it obviously worked for her! There's just an effortless flow to this that it's simple and effective.

Nah I get you, it helps that (for me at least, ik people say it's weird lmao) it's SUCH an instant track.

buwyg,ib was another grower! Around middle of the album for me.

I also think bad idea is my favourite album track now so swapped it with bloodline! :D

And 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' is a fabulous song to end on, probably still my favourite song on this album (although 'bad idea' is really creeping up to it over time tbh). An banger!

What a shame about the missed single opportunities, but that's hardly criticism.

Thanks everyone for making these sessions such a success <3 I've had a blast revisiting all of her albums with you all! Leftovers/collabs, 'Charlie's Angels' + maybe the Christmas EPs all seem like good ideas for future sessions at some point.
