Out next in eighth place is the track which became a number one hit 17 years after its original release (where it peaked at #25) after being used in a Facebook campaign to prevent The X Factor from occupying the Christmas Number One spot for a fifth year running. 'Killing In The Name' sold over half a million copies during the Christmas chart week to land at #1 at the expense of newly crowned X Factor champion Joe McElderry. The song actually began as a protest song against police brutality and systemic racism:

"The song alludes to the history of US police forces being a white supremacist organization such as the Ku Klux Klan, whose symbol is the burning cross. The BBC News website refers to it as railing against "the military–industrial complex, justifying killing for the benefit of, as the song puts it, the chosen whites." The song reflects the racial tensions that exist in the United States; it was released six months after the Los Angeles Riots, which were triggered by the acquittal of four white police officers who beat black motorist Rodney King."

Very topical when you consider today's news. Sadly it isn't to the taste of you guys and it gets booted out early. :P

All of the re-released songs are gone!

Gone for Basshunter now

Darn it, knew I should've gone for Angel, not that it likely would've made a difference x Killing In The Name is L E G E N D A R Y though, I dare you to name a song more classic and relevant to today's world out of this bunch (or indeed most of these survivors).

Going with Basshunter again x

Got to be Basshunter now. Angel isn’t that bad? I don’t know why it’s such a popular hate song.
Going for 'Angel' again! I don't mind it at all, just my least favourite in a pretty good bunch. (yes, Las Ketchup included *.*)
It’s funny really, I’ve noticed Now You’re Gone is fairly well regarded nowadays. If you’d been here in 2008, you’d have seen us all tearing our hair out at how successful it was in the charts. It was generally considered to be utter crap. And I still consider it this way.
Voted Angel this time to try to save Basshunter.
