The thing is I acc like Mabel, I own the album (the actual original one, Version 1 of 5000 :sarah:) and it's a fab listen but it makes you think, when will it stop? It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if she tacked her second album lead onto High Expectations as well :') It doesn't affect my enjoyment of her as an artist as I'm sure it's label driven and artificial chart runs are hardly a massive deal in 2020, but meh it's just annoying lmao.

What I would do with the albums chart is that instead of the 12-track rule, all songs that are registered as singles would be counted out of the album streaming total. This would actually show who's listening to the album. I know sales would dive-bomb but I'm sure they could fiddle with the ratio or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

H&H should die out once Summer is over

Why can I see you willing the seasons to hurry up just because you’re fed up with songs?

It ain’t exactly been a great summer this year

Only 2k for TK today... Really really frontloaded. Great numbers anyway.

It'll be interesting to see the streams vs Physicals for it, could drop to 8k or so next Week!!

So the way the Americans do it?

I think our album charts streaming needs to change to be like the US one or more like it.

I didn’t know that’s how the US done theirs but it’s much better than what we have so I’d definitely be here for that.

Yeah I agree with this, it’s weird to see the lower half of the albums chart clogged up with old albums like Teenage Dream (nothing against Katy lol just thought it was random to see it back in the charts) just because they had a lot of hits that are still streamed. I didn’t mind but feels a bit unfair when an artist I like (JoJo, Brandy) misses out on a chart entry

The US album streaming situation is even worse. They don't downgrade the top 2 songs, so 1 hit single can hugely inflate the parent album even if there's no actual interest in the full thing. Our situation is way better (and the US are not immune to situations like Mabel's album either so that problem isn't solved).

The US also doesn't stop at just the top 10 tracks, leading to egregious cases of extremely bloated albums just because making an album that's impossible to sit through statistically generates more streams.

Troye Sivan still being top 15 at this point is encouraging, even if it is an EP, given that the songs released did absolutely nothing. I was concerned it wouldn't even make the top 40! It's a solid EP though, good on him.

Wow at Vera Lynn being #25

Weird request I know, but based on today’s update, how likely is it that Perfect will be top 50 on Friday?

Latest update.

25 Vera Lynn - Land of Hope and Glory

Wow!!!

On the Amazon sales chart Vera Lynn is at no. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 12.

It's also at nos. 1, 2 and 12 on iTunes

Edited by ben08

didn't expect Vera to get that high even with her big iTunes lead. shame about why she's charting but it does feel somewhat appropriate for her to have a top 40 hit this year given We'll Meet Again made the top 75 on two separate occasions.

I expect R1 will only play a snippet of the song on the chart show anyway.

I'd guess Vera's on around 10k which means she could make the Top 10 with 2 more days around the same level.

Cardi finally gaining on Joel...probably too late for this week but makes her favourite for next.

As quite a lot of data is missing Joel's sales might actually be pretty close to last week's - would be good if he could avoid a decline.

^theres the usual amount of missing data

incredible for Vera Lynne
