Plus WAP is a great replacement. I feel like 2020 is just ticking off all the highest profile artists remaining that never previously had a UK #1. The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Cardi B. Who's next... Selena Gomez (not if the best she can do is the likes of Ice Cream)

 

Travis Scott as well, him finally getting a #1 at some point feels pretty inevitable. (I started a thread about this earlier in the year but it mostly turned into a discussion of artists from decades ago who never had a #1 and are no longer realistically relevant enough to get them which wasn't really what I intended but still interesting :lol:)

Any news on Club Future Nostalgia?

Happy enough with 'WAP' hitting #1, not an amazing song but it has grown on me and it feels more culturally important/impactful than most other recent hits. Would like to see 'Mood' getting to #1 as well but I can see it stalling at #2 behind Cardi.

 

As one of this forum's shockingly few people who actually liked 'Ice Cream' I am also pleased to see that clung onto the top 40 xx (and 'Over Now' as well, I am hoping that has the potential to grow into a bigger hit (it is up quite a lot on Apple Music today!) but won't hold my breath).

 

Not a big fan of Nines ('Airplane Mode' is a solid enough song that has been growing on me but it's basically an NSG song and Nines' own verse is the least enjoyable part of it lol, I did like his performance on 'Clout' more) but I'm happy to see him getting the #1 album, his success has seemed very organic and this is just the natural culmination of that. #1 albums are still pretty difficult for British rappers (/ rappers in general) to achieve as well, so it's interesting to see one who has had lesser impact on the singles chart joining the likes of Dave, Stormzy and J Hus who have previously managed it. Maybe Headie One could be in with a shot of getting there with his new album too if it's out on a quiet enough week?

 

About 90% expecting Metallica to dive directly out of the top 40 next week as well so Nines is just further preventing the first ever 1-41+ drop that was narrowly avoided several times already this year :lol: bound to happen sooner rather than later though...

I believe Joseph said earlier that he didn’t have one but I might be wrong, he got one later on Friday a few weeks ago so there’s still hope if he doesn’t have one yet. Shame it’s such a big week for ACR if we don’t get one.

AJ Tracey and Mabel are probably two of the most prolific artists of the last 2 years not to have a #1 yet (obviously West Ten won't get there now, but individually it's only a matter of time for both surely.)
