September 8, 20204 yr Wait, what’s the tea with Carly? It's being used on an advert for something - seen it quite a few times but I can't remember what it's for
September 9, 20204 yr I wish acts would stop releasing on such odd days of the week, particularly those who are only gonna get their best chance of charting in the first week.
September 9, 20204 yr God damn Steps new song is incredible, what a rush. Shame they didn't release on Friday to have any chance of charting.
September 9, 20204 yr the mid-week release is for visibility, it's the only release today, so they get to #1 on iTunes in 5 nanoseconds but agree makes no sense, the release schedule is not that busy and there are barely any big releases of late, so they would get visibility on Friday too
September 9, 20204 yr Presumably they get more press attention on a quiet Wednesday than on Friday when everyone else releases, and therefore more album buzz and pre-orders and tour hype. I’d have loved to have seen the single in the top 40 but they’ve certainly made a huge splash by announcing all this midweek. And I expect they knew that a midweek release would more likely nab them another iTunes No.1, which they can dine off for a while - they already are on Twitter! I say it every time they come back but I still find it amazing that they are so successful and can routinely sell out arenas and have big albums when pretty much every other pop act from the time is just on the nostalgia or uni tour circuit.
September 9, 20204 yr Surely it would get more press for them to get another top 40 hit officially rather than iTunes no1?
