I think may people have that attitude now so this second lockdown isn't being observed like the first. That was a sort of novelty but now people are fed up so just do as they like. Not all obviously.

More people are abiding to it that not. The irony being that is everyone stuck to the guidelines we would be out of this mess. Don't get me wrong it is shit, but it's not going to allow us to have pubs be reopened any sooner.

Out of the mess is probably the wrong phrase, we would be out of lockdown for sure, although our lives would still be heavily restricted, as they will continue to be until March. But at least we may have hairdressers or gyms open which is better than nothing.

 

No countries are really abiding to the rules. That's why Asia has faired a lot better, there is a higher Governmental compliance for sure through the fear factor.

It's going to be very hard to persuade people these days to take vaccines. I think the public education from the government really needs to start well in advance (i.e. now)."

I agree that maybe there should be some public health ads starting now or soon, on TV and radio, in the newspapers, social media, forums etc, billboards, selling the vaccine to the general public. By selling I mean persuading them it's safe for when it starts.

 

Maybe famous people in ads too saying "I'll have the vaccine and so should you" Cowell, Attenborough, Ant & Dec, Adele, Sheeran, politicians, people the public all know and mostly look up to.

I almost had an argument with my Dad this evening because the conspiracy theories are back. He thinks the government are using lockdowns to control people and that they’re not showing us all the figures. They also told me the government are planning another pandemic at which point I snapped because that is just too ridiculous.

 

It’s alright for them to stay at home and build ludicrous theories, but I’m out there on the front line every day physically and mentally drained and I cannot go through all that and be told it’s not that bad. I argued that we have a reactive government and that’s why lockdowns have returned again, because the governments keep messing up but my Dad wasn’t having any of it.

It's not forcing really but educating.

Celebs won't do it as they won't want to divide their fanbases. It's as simple as that.

Literally every single thing is natural. :manson: And it just further sealed the deal when I heard WITCH f***ING HAZEL AND ESSENTIAL GODDAMN OILS. They are literally two of the worst things you can use as a remedy. Try using that on your skin and you are likely to develop sensitivity + the ageing process will increase its speed exponentially. I really want to punch people who made essential oils a thing.

I have a witch hazel in my garden. I got it for the interesting spidery looking flowers not for the herbal remedies though!

Ugh I can't with people using the natural argument to win this. Chemists literally take the natural products and mix and dilute them to create a perfect concentration to benefit you and your needs using hundreds of years of previous research. But nowadays all it takes to convince a Brenda is to hear from a Linda on an internet forum that shoving witch hazel down her ass and drinking warm piss cured her cancer.

Sorry to hear that. I've noticed my Facebook is becoming clouded up with people who think the media is lying to us and we need a revolution. I think part of it is a coping mechanism mentally, but lots of people are presenting their opinion as facts. Social media has a lot to answer for.

I agree but I really feel the cause is the fact there is little faith in the government. They’ve made mistakes and just not owned them and people are starting are starting to not trust the message because they don’t trust the messenger. It’s really frustrating.

So Sweden have done a complete U-turn on their policy.

 

Very interesting about Sweden- at least those who tirelessly claim that lockdowns (or some form of Government action) are not necessary will no longer be able to cite Sweden. They'll probably continue to ignore all the evidence and find something else to backup their belief until reality hits.

Someone my wife knows lost her husband at the weekend. He hung himself. He was very depressed after losing both of his jobs recently. :( Leaves two teenage daughters.
