No Tears Left To Cry is my favourite of the Ariana tracks so I'm a little disappointed to see it fall before Into You. I think I need to listen to the latter again though.

Obviously I'm really rooting for Robyn to end on a high for her final appearance but I'm delighted that it's managed top 2 regardless of which way it goes ^_^

Before revealing the top 2, thanks to everyone that voted, commented, moaned and contributed to the voting threads and countdown this year. Obviously this was Dan and I’s first time running this and hopefully Iz has had a nice year off/ break from all the counting :D

....

02 [02] = Ariana Grande = Into You = 657pts

(03-03-02-02-)

Stalling at number 2 for a second year is Ariana Grande’s Into You. The song has been extremely consistent over the last 4 years and always placed within the top 3 of the decade. Whilst I do thing its good song, I think Ariana has released stronger material, but I do thing the final round (due to the number of songs) tends to split the vote. Therefore meaning she always seems to be runner-up and never quite manage to pull off the win. Both Into You and Dancing on My Own received the same number of votes, however Dancing on my Own managed more top rankings than Into You. I guess with the Number 1 song out of the way next year that it may pave the way for Ariana taking the top spot, however given some of the results this year, who knows what songs are going to get a surge and which ones are going to fall. Either way though this has been another strong year for Ms. Grande who once again manages 2 songs in the top 5.

01 [06] = Robyn = Dancing on my Own = 705pts

[1st, 2010]

Which off course means that the winner of Record of the Decade 2020 is Robyn with Dancing on my Own. The song dominated its 2010 heat and finishes 48pts clear of 2nd place to claim victory in its last year in the tournament. The song has had a pleasingly symmetrical chart run for it’s last 5 years charting 01-06-04-06-01 and managing to reclaim the top spot for the last time. Released back in 2010, the song has had an extremely consistent run over the last 10 years, never falling lower than 20th place and racking up 8 appearances in the top 10. With Dancing on my Own’s victory this year, it means that next year we will get a brand new number 1. The song in my opinion is great and a definite bop; a catchy chorus and great lyrics/ vocal from Robyn as well. Its great to see it nab the top spot one final time.

Thanks to everyone that took part this year, voted or joined in…. So once again the Buzzjack Record of the Decade 2020 is ROBYN – DANCING ON MY OWN!!!

What a great result, such a margin too! I quite like that Ariana song but not one I voted for whilst Robyn was 2nd only to Tame Impala for me. It'd be great for We Found Love to bow out with a win too next year, surprised it's not won before

Thanks for running it both, done a good job with it, I remember it being a significant task!

Nice to see Robyn manage to reclaim the #1 spot on her final opportunity, although I'd have much preferred a Rihanna win I can't fault 'Dancing On My Own' (well her version anyway), I'd certainly take it over 'Into You' (which isn't my fave of Ariana's).

thanks for making RotD a continued success anyhow y'all, I enjoyed counting up your votes. :P Perhaps next year Iz will be up for hosting it again but if not I'd be happy to keep it running.

Yeah out of the top 2 i'm glad Robyn managed to snatch it. I like Into You, but 2nd of the decade is a bit much!

I think next year will be interesting given how successful alot of the earlier years have been to see how things settle.

Also as Dan said, enjoyed hosting... my spreadsheet is always ready for any future years :D

Thanks so much to the hosts, have really enjoyed participating in this and following the results

Very happy to see Robyn win! :cheer:

Pleased with the whole Top 10 really. It'll be interesting to see what takes over next year.

Thanks Dan and Electroboy for an excellent job running this.

Excellent result, Dancing on My Own is one of the best songs of the decade and I'm really pleased it managed to win on it's last year  Into You is comfortably better than No Tears Left to Cry for me and one of my favourites from her too so I'm happy with the runner up too, would've liked We Found Love to be higher than it, but I suppose it's got another year x

Thanks to both of you for such a great effort, always seems such a huge task!

YYYYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSS! :cheer:

What a way to bow out and so happy to see it win for a second time. It's been amazing to watch the song grow in love and respect as the decade went on, I struggle to separate my absolute favourites of all time but DOMO is definitely one of them.

Also... are we guaranteed a new #1 next year (as opposed to different) as there aren't any eligible tracks left that will have previously topped the chart?

Dancing On My Own bowing out on top, a deserving winner for sure!

thank you Electro and Dan for running this, great job guys <3

Also... are we guaranteed a new #1 next year (as opposed to different) as there aren't any eligible tracks left that will have previously topped the chart?

Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Run Away With Me' has topped ROTD before

Nice to see a song going out at #1 again - congrats Robyn on ekeing out another victory. It's a very good song albeit one that I think is kind of tainted these days by the spectre of a certain Calum.

Thanks Dan & ElectroBoy once again for the gargantuan effort in running this this year - and perhaps most of all, thanks to myself for remembering to post frequently in the results thread for once :cheer: :kink:
