November 4, 20205 yr Anybody know if Levitating is still #15? 🙏 I think Joseph said earlier it was a non-mover.
November 4, 20205 yr it's not a flop at all but it's 1000% an underperformance no matter how you try to sell it

November 4, 20205 yr I think Joseph said earlier it was a non-mover. Non mover from Friday so it's #14 then?
November 4, 20205 yr Non mover from Friday so it's #14 then? No move for Levitating from last Friday this! slowly on it's way to #1
November 4, 20205 yr Oh my god are people STILL arguing over a number 1 album being a flop?! I thought it was Wednesday, not still Monday. I dread to think what next week's thread will be like if Kylie or little mix "only" sell 50,000 each by this time next week...during an English lockdown, when most supermarkets aren't bothering to sell new records anymore.
November 4, 20205 yr I agree this thread has been taken over about if it’s a flop or not . When the best selling first week sales of the year have been 50k plus then anything close is not a flop . Don’t know if anyone noticed but there’s a pandemic on 🤣🤣🤣
November 4, 20205 yr Sales are disappointing for both *however* not flops in any way, plus Ariana still has website sales to submit. and I do wish Sam had released the vinyl this week!
November 4, 20205 yr Why so bitter? Is it your forum? What have I said that it's so harmful for you? Just don't respond to me pelase and thank you. I've had enough. Yes, it's Joseph's world and we're all living in it :cheeseblock: Edited November 4, 20205 yr by ts7sfkptm
November 4, 20205 yr I do wish Sam had released the vinyl this week! They did, the album has sold 321 copies in vinyl format this week so far. https://store.samsmithworld.com/*/Music/Lov...nyl/6P9P0YQS000
November 4, 20205 yr The problem is that the vinyl is so expensive! I’d pay that for an exclusive colour, but black? No thanks
November 4, 20205 yr If you say so He is right. And to be quite frank Joseph, we are allowed to call an album an underperformance if we wish. This is a forum where we are allowed to scrutinise everything. Sorry but 30k is absolutely disappointing. Ariana Grande had a huge hit this year with Lady Gaga, and a minor one with Justin Bieber. She should be doing 40k minimum, even more in quarter four. It’s also disappointing to see positive opinions about female artists voiced without any resistance on this forum when if we were talking about a hypothetical underperformance from Lewis Capaldi’s second album, everyone would be more likely to brand it an underperformance off the bat. FYI Ariana is also underperforming in the States too; Positions is currently projected to do 260k, a drop of 100k from Thank U, Next. Also we are not branding the album a flop, merely an underperformance, please understand the nuance! Edited November 4, 20205 yr by Cognizant
November 4, 20205 yr Where in the thread does anyone deny it’s an underperformance? Edited November 4, 20205 yr by T Boy

November 4, 20205 yr And dare I say it that Ariana has only done the sales she has because her songs are on big playlists made by music influencers 🧐

FYI Ariana is also underperforming in the States too; Positions is currently projected to do 260k, a drop of 100k from Thank U, Next. You're allowed to call it an underperformance and I'm allowed to debate otherwise (with facts and context that are seemingly being ignored for the sake of like-for-like comparisons). I don't appreciate being told what can and can't happen - I'm well aware, I've been on this site a long time. Neither Stuck With U nor Rain On Me are on this album. They were huge hits but the positions era began a week before release. Most artists have months-long build-ups for albums. Ariana had one week, and she's still selling 30k. Is it the biggest success ever? No, but it doesn't need to be. It's still a success. Anyone expecting sales similar to TUN were overestimating from the start, hence why, in my eyes, it's not an underperformance. It's sold less than her previous album but that alone does not make it an underperformance, in my eyes at least. Disagree if you wish. And dare I say it that Ariana has only done the sales she has because her songs are on big playlists made by music influencers 🧐 Just like most albums by popular artists these days. This isn't anything new and it's not really worth pointing out.
