January 25, 20214 yr Thanks for the update Tim and take care there. I'm in Belgium these days, so I'm not affected but thanks :P It's really frustrating to see this happening and for what. I mean it's not as if the government is gonna say: Oh shit they looted a supermarket, let's get rid of all restrictions. Worms for brains
January 25, 20214 yr I'm in Belgium these days, so I'm not affected but thanks :P It's really frustrating to see this happening and for what. I mean it's not as if the government is gonna say: Oh shit they looted a supermarket, let's get rid of all restrictions. Worms for brains I think it's more "let's start a revolution, we hate lockdowns, they won't lock us down". I see the same mentality on loads of Facebook posts, all it takes is a few hardcores to gain the support of others and then chaos can ensure if not managed properly. I think as the weather gets better we will probably see more and more of these things around Europe.
January 26, 20214 yr Looks like hotel enforced quarantine is coming in to effect then.. the only grey area is whether it will be everywhere or just "high risk areas". My gut is they will go with "high risk areas" and then push out to everywhere in a couple of weeks.
January 26, 20214 yr From The Mirror: Thirty-one police officers are facing £200 fines after breaching Covid rules to get their hair cut, it has been revealed. Allegations that an on-duty group had been treated by a professional barber at Bethnal Green police station first surfaced earlier this month, the Metropolitan Police said. A probe was then launched and it was announced today that a decision has been made to hand 31 officers a £200 fixed penalty notice. Two officers involved in organising the activity on January 17 have also been identified and notified they are under investigation for misconduct, the force added. Det Chf Sp Marcus Barnett said: "It is deeply disappointing and frustrating that my officers have fallen short of the expectation to uphold Covid-19 regulations." January 26, 20214 yr Used to live on the same road as that very police station :o I bet loads of barbers and hairdressers are going round to houses to make some sort of living. There was one lass fined for doing them in her shed. :o I know one who would come and do mine but I cut my own. :D
January 26, 20214 yr Boris hinting at a memorial service after all this is over. That has been rumoured this weekend. He said "when this is all over we'll all come together to remember the victims and also the workers involved in trying to save those poor people"
January 26, 20214 yr Boris hinting at a memorial service after all this is over. That has been rumoured this weekend. He said "when this is all over we'll all come together to remember the victims and also the workers involved in trying to save those poor people" It's a good idea, maybe an installation memorial too, I mean something like those poppies that were in the Tower of London a few years ago would be a nice thing to do.
January 26, 20214 yr To remember his victims, you mean. What would you have done differently then? List what you'd have done differently to what he did. I'd have cancelled Cheltenham races last year. I think that was a huge oversight. I'd have sacked Cummings immediately and wouldn't have let him do a press conference. I also think Eat Out To Help Out was a mistake but that was apparently Rishi's bright idea or rather one of his staff. I think it helped the spread. Any more? January 26, 20214 yr Author What you have done different then? List what you'd have done different to what he did. Lockdown earlier Aim for Zero Covid in the spring rather than opening up the economy too soon (so that we wouldn't have needed to lockdown again later) Close the border with mandatory quarantine Provide proper support for those who need to self isolate Not discharage patients from hospital into care homes Develop a proper Test and Trace programme using the existing Public Health framework Sack Dominic Cummings instead of eroding trust in the public messageNeed any more ?
January 26, 20214 yr What you have done different then? List what you'd have done different to what he did. Oh come on FFS - he leaves every thing to the last minute. Had things been in place time and time earlier and not this last minute f*** up then things would’ve been very different. I understand you’re up Boris’ arse like no other but even you must be able to seee how much this government has f***ed things up Edited January 26, 20214 yr by ElectroBoy

I understand you’re up Boris’ arse like no other but even you must be able to seee how much this government has f***ed things up Well Therese Coffey yesterday blamed it on our elderly population and too many obese. Her exact words just before 8am on ITV1. We do have a huge number of obese including her and me. Edited January 26, 20214 yr by common sense
January 26, 20214 yr Oh come on FFS - he leaves every thing to the last minute. Had things been in place time and time earlier and not this last minute f*** up then things would’ve been very different. I understand you’re up Boris’ arse like no other but even you must be able to seee how much this government has f***ed things up Yes I admit they've made mistakes and amended my post to list three. Watch out. Scammers are pretending to offer the Covid vaccine for a fee and want your bank details. How many will be taken in by this?
January 26, 20214 yr Well Therese Coffey yesterday blamed it on our elderly population and too many obese. Her exact words just before 8am on ITV3. We do have a huge number of obese including her and me. Which has little to do with anything in the conversation other than you seemingly not being able to answer questions or hold a coherent argument
January 26, 20214 yr Which has little to do with anything in the conversation other than you seemingly not being able to answer questions or hold a coherent argument Does she have a point though? We're discussing 100,000 deaths and obesity is said to be a risk factor. I have listed three mistakes they made.
January 26, 20214 yr Author Well Therese Coffey yesterday blamed it on our elderly population and too many obese. Her exact words just before 8am on ITV3. We do have a huge number of obese including her and me. Japan has the oldest population in the world and greatest proportion of >80 year olds. Per 1 million death rate from Covid-19 Japan: 41 UK: 1,471 Try harder.
January 26, 20214 yr Does she have a point though? We're discussing 100,000 deaths and obesity is said to be a risk factor. I have listed three mistakes they made. Actually we were talking about the government and their shortcomings and how you seem to think (as usual) the government is blameless. Obesity has little to do with the government not acting or taking any form of decisive action. I’ve just realised why I don’t comment in this section as much as I did :D
January 26, 20214 yr Japan has the oldest population in the world and greatest proportion of >80 year olds. Per 1 million death rate from Covid-19 Japan: 41 UK: 1,471 Try harder. Why tell me to try harder when a Cabinet minister said it?
January 26, 20214 yr Actually we were talking about the government and their shortcomings and how you seem to think (as usual) the government is blameless. *SIGHS* I DON'T. I said Cheltenham, Cummings and the daft Eat Out didn't I? Edited January 26, 20214 yr by common sense
