Didn't know this beef. Mind you Drake & Chris Brown didn't like each once upon a time so never say never!

There’s no beef between them, he just doesn’t like her. He was furious that she got to be the face of Walkers at Christmas before he did, and he boasted about having more Christmas #1s than her. It’s pretty evident that doesn’t like her.

I believe he cares more about where he charts than the money he raises.

I'm hoping Jess Glynne will nab the Christmas top spot, it's a wonderful Christmas song and I'd like to see it on top.

Depends how much Amazon fiddle with the data this year. I’m personally predicting:

1. LadBaby

2. Mariah

3. Wham!

4. Jess Glynne

Where are you getting this from? From what I can gather, he was just making a brief joke about him having more number 1s than her (God forbid).

Just because his music's terrible doesn't make him a horrible person.

I’m pretty certain he doesn’t care about any of this half as much as you appear to.

It’ll be out in half an hour!

Fully expect it to be 90% ahead when I get up for work in the morning! Does he know how streaming works yet?

Well 0.001% then :w00t:

Also theres a big difference between not likely the song and not actually liking mariah
So throwing Ed into the mix has he got any chance at this late stage, even though we haven’t heard the song yet...

I think he does - 4 days of streams plus likely a good seller too, I definitely wouldn't rule him out.

It would be quite something if Ed ends up having the Christmas #1 from just four days streams and sales.
It would but I can’t see it as it would have to also be a mega sounding hit as well as getting curiousity plays
Ed said he was taking an 18 month break form music - but it’s only been 12 months. Do you think he decided to cut his break shorter than he planned?

No to LadBaby matching the Beatles and Spice Girls record and no to Jess Glynne after the Sexy Fish fiasco  (but to be fair she irritates me in general)

Mariah's for a third week and Christmas #1 would be nice.

It would be nice to have a proper Christmas song as the Christmas #1. It would be the first time since 2004 if it happened.

Yes I really don't feel like the Christmas #1 has been relevant for about 15 years now.

I did enjoy some of the X Factor one's like Alexandra Burke's 'Hallelujah', but after a few years it grew tiresome.

He said that back in August 2019, so it's been 16 months - not that much different. Especially as he said that pre-corona

The only X Factor winner’s singles I liked were Alexandra’s and Leona’s.

Also worth noting the comment he made was that it was his last gig for 18 months. (Coming to be a bit more than 18 months now presumably...)

It was definitely relevant in 2009 at the very least. And LadBaby has arguably made it more relevant again the last couple of years. Maybe not so much in 2016/17 though.
