January 12, 20214 yr I was kind of expecting better with the comparisons in here, but I like how it changes throughout, and it did win me over with the last half, it's so Perfect Places *. Not really sure how it's so big all of a sudden, but I guess I'm semi-on board with it.

January 13, 20214 yr I feel like the more success this gets, the more I'm going to be confused and put off :lol:. I've given it a few spins and it's... nice? It gives me 'Praying' vibes but without emotions that feels authentic poured into it. But if it wasn't for it being a big hit, I'm certain I'd have left it after one listen without ever having an urge to go back. I hope I come around though if this is going to be around all year, I would like to be eating my words in a few weeks time! :lol:

January 13, 20214 yr Vocally, she is a very similar to Phoebe Bridgers who I actually love, but with Olivia I don't find it sincere that she's singing the way she is about heartbreak at only 17. It feels really melodramatic.

Plus she has a pain in her voice that sounds quite genuine and cuts right through you like she's telling you her story with every word chosen.! Whether you're affected by that cause she's 17 is another thing but I believe these lyrics and song came from a place of hurt for her. I'm really getting into this at the moment, it's the Lorde-esque song structure and that it knows when to build and slow down just at the right time.

Agreed, and the lyrics feel real and typical of what a 17 year old would right too, perhaps overdramatic yes but it is a heartbreak song by a teenager! When you're 17 and these things happen it feels like your life is over, and actually she has captured the feelings really well, she seems to be a talented writer.
