January 13, 20214 yr I've listened to this about 3 or 4 times and it just goes right over me every single time. I can't remember a single note of this song, I don't think it's a song that I would ever hear by accident either so I can imagine that I'll never hear it again unless I choose on purpose to listen to it like the previous 3 or 4 times.
January 13, 20214 yr Still growing with each listen for me. I don't think I'll ever get to the point where I think it's "shit the bed amazing" but it's a great debut single and perfectly executed for the type of sound that is very popular, especially with online bloggers etc.. and cursive (as much as 90% of it greatly annoys me) is just growing and growing She's just ushering the stars of Disney/Nickelodeon of today, I think. Ariana, Demi, Miley, Selena etc.. are all in/past their primes now. The exposure for this has been perfectly executed and they've capitalised incredibly. Intrigued to see where I'll be with this song by the time she's released the follow up.

Same with me at the moment, don't understand why it's doing so well so instantly. It's taking a while to grow for me, might have to listen to it and follow the lyrics at the same time.

Same! I'm really trying to get into it because I feel like I'll be hearing it a lot in the future. But I'm now on my 4th listen and I'm just not getting it. Her voice is pretty standard 2010s pop girl, The instrumental is nothing ground breaking and the best thing of course are the lyrics which are cute, but then a tad cheesy. That aside, the girl clearly has a lot of talent. For me it's the Bridgerton of music... I can't get into it but everyone seems to be mad about it. :lol: But every year it's a tradition that there's a huge song that I can't get into it, so maybe it's already here.

January 15, 20214 yr I freaking LOVE her voice but I think it’s gonna take a couple more listens for me to get into it Agreed, and the lyrics feel real and typical of what a 17 year old would right too, perhaps overdramatic yes but it is a heartbreak song by a teenager! When you're 17 and these things happen it feels like your life is over, and actually she has captured the feelings really well, she seems to be a talented writer.The only thing I find unsettling about this is that the themes and motifs feel very similar to Taylor Swift and like people who follow Olivia know that this song is about how Joshua Bassett led her on to catch feelings and then rumors started flowing around that he’s dating Sabrina Carpenter, so her fans are gonna blindly cancel him when in reality he didn’t want to date her bc she’s a minor :blink: On the other end of the spectrum, I can see this being very cathartic for Olivia. She probably did have feelings for Joshua and felt some resentment when he rejected her but she knows that bc of the age difference, this love can only be forbidden and unrequited.

January 22, 20214 yr Commenting fashionably late as per but I am fully on board with this being a huge hit. I wasn't initially getting the Lorde vibes during my first listen but then ~2:30 happened and that part is a dead ringer for her :lol:
February 3, 20214 yr I really loved "All I Want" even if it's a really small part during the show. But there is some really great tunes in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series "Wondering", "Born to Be Brave", "Out of the Old".
