I’m actually really liking this on first listen! Definitely in the top half of his singles discography for sure.

I don’t really get the incessant dogpiling Ed gets on here whenever he releases something like sure it’s overexposed and this song isn’t revolutionary but it doesn’t pretend to be. Y’all would be living for this if it was a Bebe Rexha song lol

I don't think Bebe Rexha is exactly one of Buzzjack's most popular artists lol

Jess Glynne has done something that warrants the hate tho :P as for Maroon 5... well what can I say the vaccine can't cure every loss of taste x

also comparing Buzzjack to Stan Twitter is like comparing Versace to the local dumpster; at least people on Buzzjack think with their brains.

No one compared it to Stan Twitter, that was just words being put in my mouth and you've kind of just weaker your argument by slating off Maroon 5 and Jess Glynne in the same breath

Just heard Ed on Big Top 40 saying that he will be repackaging the album that’s coming before his tour so presumably next year with the tracks ‘Penguins’ and ‘One Life’ from Yesterday that never got released. He’s also re recorded ‘Everything Has Changed’ for Taylor’s version of Red.
I’m not a fan of Ed Sheeran and never have been. The only two songs I like are shape of you and castle on the hill. When I first heard bad habits, I didn’t even know it was him singing as it sounds like someone else. It’s ok song and no doubt will sell well but I just find him highly overrated for what he does!
I heard it last night and tbh it didn't even sound like his voice. Completely bang average IMO and wouldn't have been remarked upon if it weren't by someone so high profile.. though the vampire imagery is quite apt because he has just sucked all the life out of the Bronski Beat original (interpretation), it just made me want to listen to the far superior “Tell Me Why” by Supermode.
Why does he keep saying he's been away for so long though?!

Exactly, I was a bit "eh" when he said that (unless he doesn't consider the Collaborations Project a proper campaign and bypassed it or something)

Its how theyve decided to sell this

As a big comeback, his first single in 4 years

Ignoring the collabs album

And more idiotically ignoring Afterglow

From like 5 months ago 😅😅😅

He said his first solo single in 4 years tbf, so not ignoring No. 6

Afterglow was a single, or was it not?

No.6 always seemed like a side project and not the actual follow-up to Divide, I said as much at the time and Ed's comments since pretty much confirm it. Obviously it was still absolutely huge and it means Ed's not really been away, but it's been a whole 4 years since his last proper studio album which is quite a long time. I think he's just exaggerating what he means :')

Afterglow was always confirmed to be a standalone single, just thrown out with no real expectations, so I assume Ed's overlooking it for that reason?

"Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. Enjoy ! Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x"

He posted that on his website when 'Afterglow' was released. So while it's definitely being selective to sell the 'big comeback after a long break' line I'm pretty sure he is just not counting 'Afterglow' as being a single, not forgetting it existed.

Lest we forget he dropped that midweek right around Christmas which he obviously wouldn't have done with a proper single since we all know how obsessed he is with the charts xx

Bad Habits safely securing a second week at Number 1 and decent sales to go with it.
What a flop!
Barely anybody (bar 1 or 2 ppl) called it a flop. It is an under performance. A flop is not the same as an under performance. The sooner you realise this and what people were actually saying, the better.
It did flop in terms of winning me over however, still average dirge.

But it was still a SOLO SINGLE.

I'm starting to warm up to the song if I'm honest; and it will be number 1 for a while.
