Just missed out: Quintessa, Hushkanukia, Q, Jupiterdonia, Q

+ Greenfroze would have been my 12 pointer and Eledan would have gotten 5-ish points

Sad to see Cambodia miss out :(

Jade - if you don't know Siouxsie and the Banshees' version of Dear Prudence, give it a listen.

Oh I actually do know that! My gateway into that version was a Radio 2 show about Beatles covers - really enjoyed that, Joe Cocker's 'With A Little Help From My Friends' and Emmylou Harris - 'Here, There And Everywhere' off the top of my head.

It's definitely one of the very best Beatles covers.

Pop on Rocks was certainly a MOMENT even if it didn't quite make my votes x

If you never did

You should.

These things are fun.

And fun is good

That is what I'm always aiming to provide. Something you won't forget soon after the month has ended.

Shame, at the least I hope I've snared some of you into slowly repeating it more and more.

Also shame that I lost my 10-pointer in Eledan and my two biggest semi 2 favourites in Trifoski and Quintessa, not particularly great results.

10 Elëdan :: LAY – Lit

04 Taahino :: Dream State – In This Hell

Not too bad really, though a real shame to lose Suedonia, that was a grower.

What fantastic results! Very happy to have made the Final with 'La Perla' - those predictions had me certain of failure - but most importantly all the songs I voted for made it through as well! Going to be a hard one to vote!

OMG we're through!!!!!!!!!! :cheer:

Delighted with that as wasn't expecting BJSC to take to my soul/funk/dance phase!

BUT BUT BUT Kathaldazia going out in SF1 is simply not on. I think that may have got my 12 if I were in semi 1 :(

TASTE.

really gutted this went out for kathaldazia! what an absolute tune.

Well first off, thank you everyone who voted to get Aesthetica through! I expected a DNQ, especially after being late with my votes, so I can't thank you all enough for voting us enough to get through anyway! Won't let ya down with late votes in the final. Sad to see so many foreign-language tracks out, though!

A huge thanks you to everyone getting Siouxsie through, all those lovely comments brought a sentimental moistness to my eyes - I love it when people love my faves! I echo Suedey's Dear Prudence rec - major classic alert! But also: Hong Kong Garden, Christine, Arabian Knights, Spellbound, This Wheels On Fire, Kiss Them For Me, and the side-project The Creatures: Siouxsie & drummer-hubby Budgie, on Right Now, Miss The Girl. Robert Smith of The Cure was a part-time member of the Banshees for part of the 80's and they made a great matching pair of Goth-Punk essentials!

Fab hosting Dan, and Cambodia would def have qualified if we had been in Semi 1, so doh! Semi 2 we lost 3, condolences Buzzjack Mountain, Trifoski & Adonia :( I think the sheer number of foreign-language entries in semi 2 worked against most of them, in the end it came down to either booting out some dance bops or having less of the more unusual songs in my top 10, and I was in a dance bop mood, oops!

Lost Buzzjack Mountain & Lotunia from my votes (both big growers after not initially making my first cut) but my top 5 all got thru.

Thanks for the Sphere support, I was cautiously confident it would progress especially given the semi draw but nothing's surprising in this game!

Would have to say across both semis Eledan is the biggest miss from the final, expect I would have pointed that one highly.

And brilliantly presented Dan :cheer:

Edited by Dobbo.

I DNQ'd all because Bré CENSORED the Kate Bush featuring from my entry. Her name recognition would have surely pushed this into the Q zone x
Real commiserations to Kathaldazia especially, whose entry was a certain final contender, I feel bad that it didn’t work out for you. :(

Not gonna lie I am still LIVID! But thank you all for this - it means lot xx

Well, that was NOT a fun catch up, you really had me going there, huh?!

YAY for qualifying though, thank you very much everyone <3

Most of the non English language flopping in the semis. WHO WOULD’VE PREDICTED. I know I didn’t do that a week ago as soon as the semis were put up...

I will send a safe option I’ve been saving for ages next month as I am curious to see how it performs (watch it dnq as it’s not a poppy dancey female/producer collab with 4 features) but will probably sit the next few out. It’s just getting increasingly frustrating that carbon copies of the same song make it through easily while the actually interesting ones crash out.

bb it's always been incredibly frustrating but it's an inevitability, interesting songs get paid dust every month and there'll be at least three snoozefests in every top ten that are exact clones of the ones from the month before, it's a product of success by consensus.

I'm gonna keep sending the interesting songs anyway because otherwise I won't enjoy finding and supporting the other few that do when they do manage to prevail.
