March 11, 20214 yr All that guest judge hype for that...really?! BOOT. Probably the best performed acting challenge we’ve ever seen but didn’t laugh at anyone all that much. Tbh I had no idea who was going to be top and bottom after watching it. Bimini is just a goddess at this moment, there’s no need for a final at this rate, she’s won it. I don’t think anyone across any season of the franchise has gone into the final with such strong momentum, I honestly don’t think any Ru girl could beat her at this point and it’s fab to see, she’s such a star!! I’m glad Lawrence got over herself and made peace with Ellie though I was so confused when she was talking about them being such good friends. I get what we see is highly edited but to me it’s more come across Lawrence only tolerating Ellie because she’s not threatened by her. At no point during the season have I seen anything resembling a close friendship so I’m just kind of confused at this point. As for the challenge she’s lucky production like her or they’d have thrown in a few bum takes and used it to send her home as I’m sure they’ve done in the past but the end product was decent. A very Lawrence performance which isn’t bad but jut overdone and boring at this point. That’s 2 weeks in a row Michelle’s had the nerve to expect Tayce to f*** up and it’s just plain rude. She got the smallest role But I thought she did decently with it. Didn’t understand Ellie’s critiques either, they gave her all that great praise and then it was like they realised they needed her in the bottom so came up with all that shit about her acting too well...in an acting challenge. It was nonsense and just came across as dragging her for no reason. As for the lip sync it’s probably the best song they’ve picked but the performance was meh. Fund the double shanty’s just unnecessary as well, like obviously they planned four girls in the final but what’s the point when neither of them will win. They’d have been better off using it last week to keep A’Whora and getting rid of either Tayce or Ellie this week.
March 11, 20214 yr Author I actually think that was the right outcome, you couldn't separate the challenge really and you could barely separate that lipsync. All four of them brought it in their own way which symbolises what a strong top 4 this is. I think this lipsync was more worthy of a double shantay than last week's was, even if I'd say A'whora's showing this season deserves top 4 more than Tayce or Ellie. I think Ellie acted the best but it's coming down to splitting hairs so her not going as far as Bimini for example by absolutely going for every chance at a joke is fair enough, I'm glad she made the final though as I love her  Has to be a Bimini win for me, pretty much can't fault ANYTHING she's done all season bar that Norwich outfit week 1!
March 11, 20214 yr Bit of an odd one really - Bimini continues to shine above the rest. Lawrence really had a time of it in the challenge, forgetting the lines over and over again, then edited in the final product to being something good. Tayce and Ellie were good. Shocked at Ellie's runway getting read - surely her coming out in something which they didn't expect should be a good thing. I actually would've had the bottom 2 as Tayce and Lawrence. Lawrence really hasn't had the best shows since lockdown came back. To STILL be going on about previous challenge/ Ellie for the first quarter of the show. Then getting so defensive over everything. I'm finding her so one note now. BIMINI HAS TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 11, 20214 yr A really great epsiode. They all did really well. I was surprised at what Graham was saying about Ellie's outfit... I honestly don't think Graham should be a judge and Alan Carr should have a permanent spot. I was also a little annoyed about Michelle expecting Tayce to do badly again? I realise they may be doing this to really nitpick as the queens were all very close this week, but it just seems so odd. Bimini was the right winner, getting her 4th win! :o I don't see how Bimini doesn't win at this point unless Lawrence really outshines them in the final. Tayce and Ellie's lip sync was really close - I thought both did pretty decently. I'm glad they both stayed to make a top 4. Also what was that guest judge?! They hyped it up so much to be... that. Disappointed!
March 11, 20214 yr I think they picked Ellie/Tayce as the bottom 2 because the challenge was very equal so they just went with the weakest two overall (in terms of the competition, i’d imagine it will be irrelevant next week if (as I predict) they’ll announce Ellie/Tayce as joint third and let Bimini and Lawrence lip sync it out.
March 11, 20214 yr lawrence won that challenge for me, had a lot more to do so i’m not surprised the words were getting lost on her. i didn’t really find the whole thing all that funny? i don’t watch eastenders but i know all the iconic moments. i don’t understand why bimini didn’t have the total slag lines? that was her character. the writing just felt a bit flat. bimini doing well with the same character again, not surprising. i didn’t rate the runway look but wasn’t the worst when they were standing next to tayce - it was panto dame not fairy?! wtf. best thing about the episode was the lipsync choice  i’m #teamlawrence for the final but i would be very very surprised if bimini didn’t win.
March 11, 20214 yr Author Total slag really isn’t that iconic in the grand scheme of Eastenders, more of a gay Twitter meme which granted pertains to Drag Race so it should have been in I guess.
March 11, 20214 yr That double shantay really wasn't worth it, someone needs to stop Ru from doing it. Ellie Diamond needed to GO.
March 12, 20214 yr Total slag really isn’t that iconic in the grand scheme of Eastenders, more of a gay Twitter meme which granted pertains to Drag Race so it should have been in I guess. it was in.. it was just tayce that said it
March 12, 20214 yr That double shantay really wasn't worth it, someone needs to stop Ru from doing it. Ellie Diamond needed to GO. I think this was one was fairly harmless really- she’s without a doubt not gonna get any further and they clearly needed 4 verses for the song next episode so why not? No less offensive than Abby making top 4 on DRHolland (which was TRULY baffling because it was one of the weakest lipsyncs the show had ever seen)
March 12, 20214 yr Total slag really isn’t that iconic in the grand scheme of Eastenders, more of a gay Twitter meme which granted pertains to Drag Race so it should have been in I guess. Tayce Said I didn't become a little bit of a drag....I became a total drag!
March 12, 20214 yr I thought Ellie's inexperience showed in the lipsync. She clearly has all the ingredients to perform but hadn't worked out a routine to the song that paired big moves with the music. I actually expected Tayce to win or be high this episode before the runway & even with it perhaps. The critiques of Ellie's look, imo the best on stage confused me, esp as it veered into "you didn't spend enough money on this".
March 12, 20214 yr I have to say I've definitely eaten my words. Although I still think A'Whora should've made the top 4 (especially since it's stayed a top 4 into the finale), Ellie has definitely stepped up and showed that she deserves her spot despite being badge-less. I'm happy to see Ellie kinda kick it into high gear for this final stretch, if only she'd done a bit more to really take home a win. This season is Bimini's. There's no question about it really. Unless Bimini shits the bed in this last episode, I can't see a reality where anyone else wins. They better crown Bimini to make up for last season's obvious-from-day-one winner!
March 12, 20214 yr Not to harp on about it but I was disappointed that still by this episode, which had to be at least 3 days' filming next, Lawrence still hadn't got over the order thing and was still trying to explain it away without admitting that what she had really expected was for Ellie to throw HERSELF under the bus in order to advantage Lawrence as some kind of payback for her helping her start out. All the furore over "but I can't believe you'd do this TO ME" really boiled down to that, didn't it? I'm kind of surprised that neither Bimini nor Tayce jumped in to comment on it, unless it was edited out. I'm also diappointed in the edit, potentially, for not showing us literally anything about Ellie and Lawrence's friendship, because not giving us that then makes it seem a bit out of the blue for Lawrence to keep bringing it up as if they were as close as e.g. Rose and Denali or Roxxxy and Detox. And to be honest, Ellie DID have a point this episode & I agreed with her. No, she hadn't won anything. But she had also never been in the bottom 2, unlike all of the others, and in Tayce's case, 3 times in the bottom.
March 12, 20214 yr For me it made sense to have a double shantay - although there is no way Tayce or Ellie are going to win If someone was going to go I would have said Ellie because her performance was less campy than it needed to be Bimini was being Bimini but it worked. I actually really enjoyed Tayce in the acting challenge, but that runway..... I still found myself frustrated with Lawrence - pulled out a good performance after a lot of work. My main issue though is Lawrence really seems to have an issue with general conversation - always interrupting others and in my opinion twisted Ellie’s words to manipulate the conversation. I see it as coming from a place of insecurity but Lawrence really needs to self identify that and deal with it Sooooo pissed about the guest judge - it’s bad enough we don’t get a makeover challenge this year, and now they can’t even be asked to get someone like Danny Dyer on....
March 12, 20214 yr I was so happy we finally got a good, campy, big UK pop song for the lip sync, after all the strange choices including transphone Glynn a few weeks ago. The Steps song is obviously fab and Tayce did such a good job! Very surprised we had a double shantay though as Tayce was the very clear winner for me. Ellie seemed like someone who watched Drag Race, learned a few moves while watching, and does them all because she thinks that's what drag is. Generally shocked she is in the final; definitely don't think she deserves to be there instead of A'Whora, Joe or Ginny (and Tia, Sister as well). Bimini was a total star again and I loved Tayce in the acting challenge. Lawrence was good, but felt she didn't get called out enough for constantly messing up during filming. And the scenes with Ellie, where she still kept going on about last week were hard to watch. Felt really sorry for Ellie.
March 12, 20214 yr Joe Black deserved to be in the final over Ellie? The same Joe that got eliminated in 100% of the episodes she appeared in? What
March 12, 20214 yr Joe Black deserved to be in the final over Ellie? The same Joe that got eliminated in 100% of the episodes she appeared in? What In my opinion, yes. While Joe is maybe not the kind of drag queen Ru looks for (and therefore got eliminated), she is a seasoned performer and is way more interesting than Ellie (in my opinion ofcourse). She was probably the biggest and most well known prior to the show.
March 12, 20214 yr Author People are really stretching to invalidate Ellie being there, I totally get that she is not on the level of all rounder that Bimini is, she doesn't have the humour that Lawrence does and she can't perform like Tayce, but she has done solidly at all of the things asked of her within the competition, which is what this is. If you look at the challenges set out, she has done really well across the board (she at least deserved a badge in week 1), she hasn't even been placed within the bottom 3 until the past two weeks. If it's ok for someone to lipsync to the crown like Tayce, then surely it is ok for someone to get there simply by doing well enough to mostly avoid the bottom, even if they don't have a win. Of course everyone is going to have opinions on her, I just think it's sad how much people are invalidating what she's done on the show as if she's done terribly all season and there's been some absolute bullshit to get her where she is. I mean what's the point in the challenges if doing well in them is not enough to be where you are? Joe Black may be a more interesting/unique queen to some, and perhaps Ru does fence in drag with the challenges the show has, and that's another discussion, but she was eliminated swifly twice, in 100% of the episodes she competed in. For the show this is, I think we've got the right top 4 bar maybe A'whora for Tayce or Ellie, but there's always one big shock elimination. I think this was one was fairly harmless really- she’s without a doubt not gonna get any further and they clearly needed 4 verses for the song next episode so why not? No less offensive than Abby making top 4 on DRHolland (which was TRULY baffling because it was one of the weakest lipsyncs the show had ever seen) Agreed, obviously two different seasons with different people making the decisions but that definitely was one where they just went "oh f*** it let's have them all", I suppose in that case you could say them both being so bad saved them because they couldn't have a double sashay at the semi, but they could have just eliminated Abby for track record. Ellie won't win and it genuinely was a really good/close challenge, the lipsync wasn't double shantay level but I really don't think it was too much of a stretch nor does it really affect anything when she's going to have the same position.
