April 10, 20214 yr What a pointless episode...there was an obvious top three there to the extent Kandy looks amateurish next to them so it just feels absolute nonsense she’s in the finale but whatever I guess. Challenge wise I really enjoyed the music video, it felt so different to Ru songs we had before which was really refreshing. All the girls have decent verses though Gotmik and Rose were definitely my favourite in that regard. As for runways Kandy’s was good for her...anything would be an improvement on that abomination last week though. I think Symone had my favourite look this week, she looked stunning in it! It’s a shame, I feel this should be an exciting three way race for the crown but after such a long, over produced season I’m struggling to care. I don’t even know who I want to win tbh. Roll on All Stars 6, that’s all I can say.
April 10, 20214 yr lol, I just read the recap and don't really feel the need to watch the episode. I had a feeling Kandy would somehow get to the finale despite obviously being lacking compared to the others left. For whatever reason Ru + the producers have decided to favor him and haven't really called out the absolutely horrible things presented on the runway at times (I'm looking at you, the alien look). Maybe they didn't want him to be eligable for miss Congeniality, lol.

April 10, 20214 yr Yeah I agree, usually I don't really mind the inconsequential top 4 episodes, and the performance was great on all accounts imo but because we've already had the first three episodes plus the Rusical where nobody went, whereas in other seasons where we had a top 4 like this where everyone moved ahead, you had one double shantay at most. In the case of this season, they should have just moved onto a top 4 finale properly, if they want a lipsync for the crown so need a top 5, they should have gone straight from the top 5 acting challenge to this, or had this challenge with the top 5 as a competitive episode with an elimination like S11 did. All I know is the more I see, the more I actually want Gottmik to win, I'd be happy with Rosé or Symone but I think it would not only mean so much for a trans man doing drag to win Drag Race, the journey Kade has been on is amazing when you look at the difference in perforance and verse from Condragulations to Lucky, and Snatch Game/Rusical etc. along the way, he said himself in the interview how he was so unsure how he'd tackle comedy etc. but Gottmik has been one of those who just ploughs through weaknesses and smashes a lot of it anyway, I think that's quite rare. Of course it's fine to have bad weeks (and Mik did, the branding challenge and disco) but I think sometimes queens just barely even try if it's not their "thing", and for somebody who started as a visual artist to come out and do what Mik has done amongst seasoned performers and those who it all comes naturally to, is amazing. I feel like this episode set her up as a winner too but idk how she'd go with a lipsync for the crown, she wasn't the BEST in that last lipsync but I think she can do it still.

I like Gigi but I'd be FUMING if she beat Symone, I wonder if with Symone it'll be a case of waiting til AS8 rather than AS7 and AS7 can be Gigi, they're kinda running out of queens that I'm thinking should be on All Stars so it's mostly Season 12 and then whichever two of Rosé/Gottmik/Symone don't win S13 :lol:
April 10, 20214 yr As a stand-alone episode I thought this was a very good episode. The performances were good and none of the runways were bad - although I am comparing Kandy to previous runways I did think Kandy should have gone. Her runway was basic and her lip syncs just feel so scatty to me. I was worried for Rose when they revealed the final 4 lip sync. She just doesn’t seem to have that in her pocket I can see Gottmik winning now. She has grown a lot in the competition and in my opinion should have been given a win this week (to tie her with Rose) Symone feels like she has fallen to 3rd in the last couple of weeks. I do think that her, Rose and Gottmik would make a solid top 3 and at least add some validity to this season (a lot of Meh competitors and four non-eliminations.....)
April 10, 20214 yr I did think Kandy should have gone. Her runway was basic and her lip syncs just feel so scatty to me. My main issue with Kandy is that he doesn't have an area where it feels like he stands out in a big way to make up for the weak runways. Not saying that he's untalented, but it's not a Shangela season 3 situation where it's obvious that he's so good at comedy/acting and brimming with winner-potential if he could just get the drag together and even that "only" brought Shangela at that point to the top 6. Ironically, I can't help to feel that Kandy would be a lot more popular if they had eliminated him a few a episodes ago instead of dragging him to the finale.

April 10, 20214 yr Symone cemented herself as my winner this episode. But also, Gottmik was pretty flawless. They all did well in the music video. But Kandy could easily have been given the chop. Her runway was basic in comparison to the others. But she's had too much screen time at this point. Rose's gown definitely brought some drama. If the wig had more volume at the top, it would've balanced out the bulkiness of the gown. The biggest shame is that Denali would've smashed this week. Edited April 10, 20214 yr by McAndrew

April 10, 20214 yr Not seeing the problem with Rosé's runway look at all? :unsure: It was stunning, and definitely my favourite of the four. Gottmik's, while obviously 'fashionable', wasn't anything to get wet about. Echoing the comments that this episode seemed a bit pointless. The challenge was alright, but there was literally zero tension in that lip-sync because you just knew all four of them were making it to the finale lol.

April 10, 20214 yr I didn’t mind this episode too much, it gave us a chance to grow to like the top 4 more a bit more especially Gotmik who had a great showing this episode The challenge was great, one of my favourite add your verse to a Ru song challenge in years! Gottmik killed it. The runway was disappointing though for all of them, Rosè’s was my favourite I’d say
