I actually enjoyed all of the pre-album singles (especially 'NDA' and 'Your Power') but hearing the whole body of work in one go really took my feelings to a whole new level. I echo that the production throughout is such a triumph and I also picked up the dreamy Portishead likeness in places. I can definitely see why 'Happier Than Ever' is attracting so much hype, I think it's my favourite too - I actually saw the structure compared to 'A Day In The Life' by The Beatles somewhere and I can somewhat see that, the sonic direction totally flipped and swerved my expectations. The lyrics are really gripping too. 'Oxytocin' is another understandable common highlight as it's the closest we get to a banger from the album tracks, also very good. My underrated favourite right now is 'GOLDWING', everything about it made me swoon <3

My vinyl has dispatched so I really look forward to that arriving soon *.*

haven't had a chance to listen to it in full but judging by the snippets this is going to be much more cohesive than her previous album. what a great move - make a mark with non-stop explosive badass singles in the previous era that put her on the map and release something more refined and stripped back this time. now the single choices make much more sense. 100% approve of this and loooove the direction.

Everybody Dies, NDA, Oxytocin, I Didn't Change My Number are so far my highlights

GOLDWING is also a standout for me Jade, I don't think I paid attention properly in the early hours as I was still loving oxytocin but the production on GOLDWING is stunning.

I'm still not sold on the whole thing as yet though, I start to get bored after a while. I need to work out which are the keepers and then cut it down to something more concise.

can we also appreciate the perfect transition from NDA to Therefore I Am? *.*

A really, surprisingly good album based on some of the singles and grats, I wasn't very hyped for it at all before today.

She has such good control over her voice, gorgeous tender vocals in places that really add to the power of the lyric.

My favourite single so far is definitely Your Power, I know it's not exactly commercial but it deserved way more than it got in terms of chart longevity, it actually reminds me of the sort of thing radio would have loved in the early 90s. A real stunner.

The others that stood out to me on first listen were GOLDWING, Hailey's Comet, Getting Older, Oxytocin and the ultimate highlight is Happier Than Ever - the sonic switch up and distorted crunching drums and bass towards the end is so effective. More rock for the charts *.*

Was just admiring this too, the sequencing on this album is perfect.

The title track!!! Best thing she's ever done

I had such mixed feelings leading up to this album, the singles weren't grabbing me as much as her last 2 projects but I still had hope she would deliver and she really has! Manages to be a cohesive album despite the varying sounds and emotions throughout it. I've never really liked slow, stripped back Billie as much as her more experimental stuff, so I think I'll still prefer her debut, but this has massively outdone my expectations I had going into it

Highlights are the title track, NDA, Oxytocin, Halley's Comet (which is stunning), GOLDWING and my future

What did people make of the interview with Clara? Apart from the bizarre fact that she was dressed like a woman in her forties (I've literally never seen Billie wear anything like that), I think she came across really well. She seems in a much better place and feels much more confident about this album than the first. I haven't actually listened to the album yet but watching the interview really sold it to me and made me want to go and play it so I will do so in the morning!

Woman wear clothes.

Man criticize woman for not wearing what he want

It was hardly a criticism, I was pointing out that it's not at all the sort of thing she normally wears and I found it a bit bizarre. But I should know by now not to voice my true opinions on Buzzjack so I take it back!

I just don’t quite understand why it’s any of your business what she’s choosing to wear and how she looks like. The fact you chose to point that out as if it was something that affects you or anyone for that matter is what’s truly bizarre in this situation.

I'm not even gonna bother getting into an argument with you.

Anyway I gave the album a listen and I'm a bit underwhelmed if I'm honest. The singles aside, nothing stood out to me (apart from maybe 'Billie Bossa Nova' which is quite a cool track). I'm thinking it's one of those albums which you have to listen to a few times to start appreciating. You can tell she's definitely not going for an overly commercial sound with it though.

I didn’t see anything wrong with what was said by Mango to be honest. A person in the public eye is always rightly or wrongly going to get commented upon.
I still remember how mind-blowing it was to hear 'bad guy' for the first time and was hoping for a moment like that on this album, especially since the last few singles have been underwhelming. Needless to say 'Happier Than Ever' did that! 'Oxytocin' sounds great too

maybe some people should listen to this again x

Can’t believe you just set the feminist movement back 100 years by not liking Billie’s ugly clothes!!!

Listening to 'Happier Than Ever' (the song) for the first time and at first I'm like -shrug- and then THAT switch-up happens and just :cheeseblock:
