the song is a lot better than anything Maroon 6 have done in years and years anyway so that’s not really a fair comparison. :P

Well yep, but that's not a lot

(I'm just mad because they use the "planet theme" (Kaotica) a year after Gaga, pretty tasteless to not even acknowledge Gaga's impact if you ask me)

also let’s enjoy Body being number one whilst it lasts cos it’ll be 9 weeks of Ed Sheeran at number one soon enough...

Why would that be worse?

Coldplay’s new single Higher Power is off to a strong start, on course for a Top 10 debut and currently at Number 3 on the Official Chart First Look following its release on Friday.

The track, which the band are performing at this week’s BRIT Awards on Tuesday (11 May), could be the band’s first Top 10 single in four years, since their 2017 Chainsmokers collaboration Something Just Like This.

Meanwhile, the current Number 1 Body by Tion Wayne & Russ Millions looks set to hold at the top for a second week and was the UK’s most-streamed song over the weekend.

Following the release of Rag’n’Bone Man’s new album Life By Misadventure, the record’s latest single Anywhere Away From Here with P!nk is on course to hit a new peak, currently up 20 places to Number 11. The pair will perform the duet live at the BRITs this week.

Kid Laroi’s Without You continues its climb back up the Top 40 thanks a new remix with Miley Cyrus, up 17 spots to Number 13, and Majestic & Boney M’s Rasputin looks set to reach a new peak, up three to Number 15.

I bet Friday is ACR now since it hasn't been in the top 10 today. I am correct?

Called it.

Nah x

The Coldplay song is just a bit dull really, would have hoped for better since it's their first single from a new album. I suppose at least it's something new entering in the Top 10, just a shame Billie is likely going to drop out after one week. Also injustice if Miley's remix helps that irritating song go Top 10 again when Angels Like You flopped hard. :(

Pretty good start for Coldplay! I never know how reliable this update is but they should be good for a top 10/20 debut with the BRITs performance too?

Higher Power is soooo lazy 80s rip off.

Coldplay are the UK's Maroon 5 now lol

Maroon 5 have literally been doing the same sound since they started (the guitars have just got less prominent over time), you can't say the same for Coldplay no matter what your opinion of their music is, they are certainly prone to selling out, but nowhere near as much.

nice to see Rag & Pink so high!

wasn't expecting Coldplay to be #3 today, curious to see where they end up

Even in M5's new song the guitar is more prominent than its been for a while, but only because Mood popularised that sort of sound before them!

(I quite like Beautiful Mistakes though)

I do quite like maroon 5 and in my opinion beautiful mistakes is their best song in a good few years. It got added to the playlist of the radio in my local area and I’ve heard it on there numerous times and I absolutely love it! It’s such a shame it looks unlikely to hit the top 40, it seems stuck around the 50 mark.

So pleased to see Coldplay smashing it - amazing track and not easy for an act like them to still be achieving hit singles

Think they knew they needed a top top track to give them success and they have pulled it off! Chris Martin is a sensible bloke!

Please don't compare Coldplay to Maroon 5. 2010s Coldplay far better than 2010s Maroon 5.

I'm happy for them holding 3rd position. BRIT performance is coming. And Official Music video hasn't come out yet. Current video isn't official video (they confirmed)

Interesting to see where Coldplay will be today and how it has held up from yesterday, hopefully the Brit performance will give both sales and streams a really good left and keep it safely top 10, id love top 5 for it.

Rag n Bone is #1 with nearly 30K

per the OCC website

Rag’n’Bone Man is on course for his second UK Number 1 album with new album Life By Misadventure.

The Blues-rock singer songwriter is outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined on today’s Official Chart Update (May 10) and has sold just shy of 30,000 units over the weekend.

Real name Rory Graham, Rag’n’Bone Man’s debut album Human reached the top of the Official Albums Chart in February 2017, claiming the fastest-selling debut album of the 2010s decade by a male solo artist. That album has returned to the Top 40 midweek, impacting at 29.

Rag’n’Bone is also heading for his fourth UK Top 20 single this week as his P!nk collaboration Anywhere Away From Here is on track to become this week’s highest climber. The two will perform the track at the BRIT Awards tomorrow.

Michael Ball is Rag’n’Bone Man’s biggest competition this week, with the singer, actor and broadcaster currently occupying the runner-up slot with 27th album We Are More Than One. The record is in line to be his sixth Top 3 entry in the last five years.

YouTuber and recording artist Dodie is on course for her highest ever chart placement at 3 with debut album Build A Problem, which follows two Top 10 EPs. Another debut album is right behind - Brighton post-punk group Squid are hoping for a Top 5 entry with Bright Green Field at 4.

Northern Irish music royalty Van Morrison could clinch a 16th Top 10 album with Latest Record Project, Volume 1 (5), New Order are on the cusp of an 11th Top 10 with live album Education Entertainment Recreation (7), and US rock band Weezer may secure their highest-charting album with Van Weezer (10).
