June 16, 20214 yr Immobile's shot was absolutely filthy! And I was the only one to pick Italy in the poll? Hehe
June 16, 20214 yr A fantastic goal for Italy to make it 3-0, glad Immobile finally got his goal after a few went slightly wide earlier!
June 16, 20214 yr Italy most certainly living up to the expectations then! Wales must be slightly nervous after seeing those last two games, the only saving grace is that the goal differences have been so big that they can potentially just focus on not letting as many in and hopefully they will end up in the Top 2.
June 16, 20214 yr Rome aren't hosting a Last 16 match, Sam Matterface. London and Copenhagen are and they both have O as their second letter, so he was close
June 16, 20214 yr I wish Italy didn't score again in the last 5 minutes as I would have had my first perfect prediction :nocheer:
June 16, 20214 yr I really enjoyed this game! Italy are a great looking side. They played well as a unit and looked dangerous to the final whistle. It was a well deserved win. I’d quite like them to go on and win the tournament tbh. Sommer, the Swiss keeper, should have done a lot better for the 3rd goal. He’s saved plenty of those for Gladbach. For the second I’d point the failure more at Elvedi, also a Gladbach player 😬, for a bit of poor defensive work and from then there wasn’t much Sommer could see until it was too late to do anything. The first was just superb, nothing he could have done on that I think. Thought the Swiss were disappointing going forward but to be expected when Shaquri is on the pitch. Would have swapped him for Zakaria and let him and Embolo have some fun. They’ve put in some great performances together up front for Gladbach this year and usually link up quite nicely together
June 16, 20214 yr Italy look superb, great form coming in to the tournament and they have a solid defence and look to have a good attack too. The pundits on ITV were really talking them down, but I still think they're being underestimated. France looked good against Germany, but think Italy could upset them.
June 16, 20214 yr Italy have a very good chance of winning the tournament. On current form how can anyone beat them when they don't concede any goals and at the same time score a lot? I think a minimum of getting to the semi final is on the cards for them.
June 16, 20214 yr I find it hard to think Mbappe wouldn’t have a field day against Cellini and Bonucci? Maybe he won’t be allowed into that position though?
June 16, 20214 yr That would require Mbappe to actually stay onside, something he was completely incapable of last night
June 17, 20214 yr Italy have done well but it's still too early to call anything. I mean Turkey & Switzerland are hardly titans of European football. Looks pretty nailed on I'll be seeing them next Saturday unless Wales pull off an even greater upset than their 2016 QF.
June 17, 20214 yr Think both of the above are in the second tier or in Switzerland’s the lower first tier in the nations league groups so good but not top notch!
June 21, 20214 yr I can't believe how abysmal Turkey were. They were being hyped by some quarters as the dark horses of the tourno.
June 21, 20214 yr Turkey were poor throughout, there were some fab goals in that game though, I'm glad I chose to watch that instead of Italy-Wales yesterday!
