'Black Magic' has established itself as a bonafide pop classic, and if it leaves before that pile of stinking bilge it will be a crime.

I think there’s maybe 3 other songs I’d choose to vote for before Secret Love Song... but I have to admit that I’m less into it than I was in 2016. This is because whenever I hear it, I really wish it was just a Little Mix only song! Jason is so surplus to requirement, I’m not keen on his vocals (particularly when he lets loose at the end - I think he sounds processed & he takes away from the emotional climax). Jason allegedly being part of the reason why the video is extremely watered down, to the point of being nothingy, will always be a shame. Ugh, he just wasn’t needed! They should have used him on a throwaway bop instead.

 

For me that song is an 8, and would be a 10 with 100% Little Mix vocals. That’s what their big ballad single moment deserved. I know there’s Part II but the main version shouldn’t have been a duet imo.

I agree, Secret Love Song, Pt II should have been the main version. That could have been a massive BRIT moment right there :(
