Bizarrely, it seems like this is being released by Columbia / Sony; originally they were on Innocent / Virgin, which are now a part of the Universal umbrella I believe. Their last release (Whole Again: The Best of) was also handled by Spectrum Music, a Universal label for compilations. Maybe Columbia / Sony approached them with doing this recording to try and quickly cash in and hope that it becomes a proper yearly football anthem. I just can't see there being a grand plan for an Atomic Kitten comeback.

This releases just gives me so many questions  And seeing all the straights singing along to AK still makes me slighly uncomfortable, but hey, if it gives them another hit I won't complain. They also performed on Loose Women this morning. At the same time, I also cannot see there being any sort of plan after this. Jenny even posted something like "the island (Ibiza) is calling me back already" on Instagram today.

WHAT?! They're not even sonically similar  Whole Again sounds massive, and no matter who was singing it, it would have been a hit. Follow Me is cheesy pop!

If it was such an obvious hit you'd have thought it would have been released a lot earlier in the album campaign, certainly before Follow Me was, rather than as a fifth thrown out 'make or break' single with a super budget video.

I definitely didn't expect it to be a big hit at the time and don't know anyone else who thought it would be - even Woolies chart, which was usually a good barometer for success, had it in the mid teens or something first week out so it's not like it had much pre-release hype, it was a genuine shock when it landed at No.1 in the midweeks, and then officially.

Obviously its success snowballed after that, and looking back it seems crazy that nobody saw it coming as it's regarded as a big pop classic now, but had the record company not taken one last punt on them after Follow Me flopped then it may never have even been released at all!

I knew it was going to be no.1 - it was obvious! It is a massive tonal and sonic shift from the cheesy pop before it, including ultra cheesy Follow Me.

I still remember that, it's crazy to think about it. I was genuinely expecting it to chart at about #18 that week and it was a total surprise #1!

It was certainly different for them, and was clearly the more mature change in sound that they needed to break through commercially, but it's impressive that you managed to call its success pre-release!

I think many people, probably including the band and label themselves, had been anticipating a 17-36-59 - dropped from the label type run! To this day seeing the midweeks that week was one of the biggest chart shocks I can remember seeing in all the years I've followed the charts.

So crazy to see them back in the chart! Regardless of how England do on Sunday they should get a better peak next week too

“We only decided to record it on Monday,” Natasha told the Daily Star, with Liz adding: “We rang Jen on the Monday. She was having a little beer on the beach in Ibiza.

“We said: ‘Do you want to record Whole Again?’ and she went: ‘Yeah.’ Then she went into the studio in Ibiza and did her parts and Tuesday she flew over.

“So we have not had a chance to sit down and be with each other. Hopefully, now we can have a little wine together.”

She teased: “Let’s see what happens. The public have welcomed us back, which is lovely, so if it’s something that will have legs then there is a conversation to be had [about new music].”

And the girls have an idea of the kind of tracks they’d like to put out, with Liz admitting she’s “K-pop crazy” and Natasha sharing her love for singer-songwriter and producer SG Lewis.

What on earth has happened to Natasha's voice?
I can see this possibly going top five of England win, regardless it should comfortably go top 30

OK I'm pretty obsessed with this at the moment, it's made me fall in love with the song all over again

It's a shame they released it so late in the week. If England lose on Sunday I still think this will be comfortably top forty but if we win then who knows? Top ten I'd like to think?

It was my understanding that Kerry has wanted to be involved with some things but they other two didn't let her. She had some rants about it.

Dish it!?!?

Should Jenny not be isolating?!

(I have no idea what the rules are rn though)

Also: Their Loose Women performance was actually solid! I expected worse due to a comment above asking what had happened to Natasha's voice, but I thought it ws fine and much, MUCH better in that performance

Jenny is like 50, so she's probably fully vaccinated x
