to be honest I am not sure if this whole mess has been discussed in 29 pages but seriously watching that video and her whole image is just kinda not right.

 

My hubby who is POC thought she was mixed race and that tells me something that this isn't right.

I really hope this is the case.

 

I really do think the tan is something to do with her appearance issues, as so so many people tan as they think it makes them look more attractive and skinnier.

 

I'd like to see some change..even though me as a POC is personally not offended by Jesy at all and just see her as an overly tanned British white woman. However, I respect that other people may feel differently.

Can we keep the blackfishing/drama in the other thread? It'd be cool if this one was just to track charts and anything related to the song/video.

 

I've been strongly critical of Jesy lately but I have to give her credit that although there's nothing original whatsoever about this release, she is a great dancer and I would have liked to have seen more choreo on the second and third verses. I also do think it's pretty incredible she's got Nicki Minaj and P Diddy in her debut video and there's such a push behind it.

 

I'd KINDA like to see it become a hit and for her to chart worldwide purely so it can bring more attention to Little Mix though. :lol:

Gonna try and keep this topic for opinions on the video/song/performances/promo etc.. Don't mind the odd discussion about blackfishing and cultural appropriation in here if you're referring to the song/video specifically, but try and keep those comments for the other thread from here on out.

I just hope LM continue to go strong and Jessie fades away so we can forget about this awful mess. I dont want her to leave a stain on LM amazing legacy. Lets just forget about Jessie and move on. This song might do well but after that I think she will fizzle out, best place for her and ber BLACKFISHING.

 

I will not be listening anymore to her. The video is boring and the song isnt great either to be honest. Such a shame, I actually quite liked the song at first but its been tainted now.

Still #8 on Apple Music.

Dropped to #3 UK iTunes and #6 US iTunes.

I'm predicting #3 in the midweeks behind Ed and Elton Lipa.

 

It will be a big day on Spotify for her as if she holds up top 20, I can see this debuting around #6 but realistically I can see this debuting around #7 or #8 now especially as it seems to have slowed down a bit on Apple Music and falling quite fast on iTunes.

TBH, I was unsure. Even though I think the song is garbage, I have known similar and even worse songs do so well - both in the UK and worldwide. And of course her label would have pumped in so much money as per first member of a successful girlband going solo. I've always thought top 10 in the UK first week was a given; but worldwide I wasn't sure what to expect.

Very interested to see the mids today! Hoping for a Top 10/15 debut on Friday.
