when I first heard Bad habits my first reaction was 10 weeks at #1

but then on the first couple days the response on streaming ws so muted like no one cared

it was the comeback of the biggest start of the planet and barely started with 500K

(compare it to Drake who started with 1.1 million)

so that's a muted response to say the least and something worrisome for his label I'm sure too

of course the label reaction was immediate and they paid to have the song moved to track #1 in all playlists that exist in Spotify

and then the figures increased obviously, you get what you pay for,...

 

but figures increased but on Spotify, not so much... and he's been #1 ever since but that's thanks to his Amazon songs

which are the opposite of transparent and always fishy to me...

Shiver's somewhat slower assent is possibly partly because a lot of people thought Visiting Hours was a single a couple of weeks ago which rose a bit faster and probably took a bit of the initial away, which is why this might take a few extra days to catch on.

Shivers sounds huge, very commercial. Have no doubt it will do very well. Will see what tactics Ed and his label bring out to get the number one by a comfortable margin.

Dave's whole album seems to have had a big boost, I'm not sure why. 4 of his ATs have returned to the top 200 as well as his currently charting tracks climbing.

Trust the British public to make this Central Cee mangling of Just For Me end up being a bigger hit than the original then I guess.

Shivers hasn't set the platforms on fire.. the Youtube views are not anything special and #8 on AM isn't spectacular. Maybe he should've waited a few weeks?

 

It's not gonna be the new Take My Breath though, but there are similarities in terms of the online response

It's a shame because Shivers is probably the best/most interesting thing he's released since 'Shape Of You'.

Will be interesting to see the initial Spotify numbers.

 

Whilst I do think some are quick to label something a flop these days, it does seem to have taken a while to get to Number on I-tunes and is still not even top 5 on Apple.

 

No doubt by the end of the week he'll be well in front of the rest of the competition.

 

However IF (and its only an IF) he isn't... what would be the number 1 contender, given Drake has dropped away, LAROI and Bad Habits will be on ACR - would be a random climb for a song :D OUT OUT or Rmemeber for Number 1

If Shivers doesn’t make the grade it will be Stay #1 if it hasn’t succumbed and failing that Girls Want Girls. If Drake suddenly fell off a cliff it would likely be Bad Habits on ACR before anything else!
