I don’t unfortunately :( I’ll hopefully have a new figure for One More Sleep on Friday! Probably not the album though. :(

Well final nail in the coffin of Leonas career?

 

Can’t even shift 1500 vinyls to get a top 100 on the uk album chart.

 

I said I was done years ago with caring but now I’m in genuine shock and have given up.

 

Good luck to those going to the tour. She’s now as relevant as Gabriella Cilmi was back in 2010.....

 

It didn't make the Top 40 vinyl chart, or the Top 100 physical chart. Over 300 sales was needed to be Top 100 in the physicals chart, so it's likely she sold under 300 copies.

Disappointing but not a huge shock as it appears very little went into making it a successful rerelease.

 

A shame really I believe the potential was there if done properly.

Hopefully her next full length studio album has some form of campaign behind it and she can do well in future.

 

This album re release was too under promoted and for the sake of just two new songs too (one of the songs not even being a Christmas song) it felt a bit hmm to even re-release it Mr Right from the OG album could’ve been another hit for her had they pushed that in say 2014/15. At least One More Sleep will always be a success for her year on year though but sadly this album re-release was never gonna do mega well which is sad but almost expected.

 

I’ll always support Leona her vocals one of the best this country’s ever had and and I love her as a person but she’s one of the worst managed artists in history :(

 

To not release this on CD is baffling when it’s clear Leonas fanbase would very likely be CD buyers. Was she on any daytime tv shows in the UK often they can sort of help out things like This Morning or Loose Women?

I have accepted things with this release. Would have loved a proper deluxe re-issue with full promo but I don’t think that was ever on the cards. It gave Leona something to plug for the GB tour and was a nice treat for the vinyl fans to get something slightly new. You can see with these sales it wasn’t worth a CD re-issue. Without a proper promo campaign and big songs (based on comments online, the originally planned single ended up going to a different artist), Leona won’t even get a moderate hit again.

 

Think it is clear that Leona is quite happy with her career and not dealing with the global pop star pressures, so I don’t think it can all be put down to her management. Clearly doesn’t struggle to secure private gigs and gets to live the lifestyle she wants so any new music is released on her terms.

 

On a more positive note, I am enjoying the two remixes out now. Champion mix is my preference out of the two, gives the song a bit more life. Still hoping KMIC can end up on some big playlists. Only way it is going to reach a wider audience and gain some traction.

That was on her store though which is open to international fans - so those wouldn't have been counted for the UK charts (unless shipped to the UK).

 

I think she does have some TV promotion during the December period, but I don't think that will help out much.

 

I just wish they did a proper re-release to capitalise on her tour with Gary rather than this half-assed two new songs tacked on vinyl. Deluxe CD/Vinyl/Cassette with 5-6 extra tracks. She's recorded more than enough to do that. Oh well, can't say I'm surprised given the last 6+ years of her career.

They should've just waited until next year then with a proper re-release. Maybe they will re-release the album on CD to cooincide with the tour.

How weird releasing tickets for a Christmas 2022 tour now!?!? I wouldn't mind seeing her actually any idea of prices of the tickets? I presume it would be something like Emma Buntons Royal Albert Hall Christmas gig?

Yeah I agree, the timing of all of this seems so odd and mismanaged.

 

I only hope we get an EP of 4-6 new Christmas songs to go along with the tour next year. I doubt it though sadly.

I also don't think most people don't pre-plan going on a Christmas tour a year (!) ahead. Also, wouldn't it make sense to do a re-release+ticket deal? Maybe they're hoping that releasing them now means people will hear One More Sleep and remember that they like that song and buy a ticket?

They presumably hope some of the Gary fans who see her on tour will then be tempted to buy tickets to her own gig, especially if she starts mentioning it every night.

I guess this weird re-promotion was to shift tickets for her tour next year. I really do hope they go for a proper re-release next year. She has recorded so many Christmas songs they could easily add 5+ more songs to the CD.

 

 

What an odd decision. To be honest, this makes me worry about new music next year. Can’t see any big projects happening for Leona to then go back to plugging the reissue from the previous year when touring. Another CWL re-issue a year after this one is not going to win her any fans. Let’s see if the Gary Barlow tour does pay off enough for this to go well but not holding my breath.

Poor Leona - What a mess! Her team can’t even get a re-issue right.

 

I can’t believe they have done new artwork, tracks, video and only released a vinyl - the Gary Barlow fanbase are not going to be rushing out to add a Leona Christmas vinyl to their collection, also a 2022 tour announced now?

 

They should have pushed CWL and OMS hard to coincide with the GB tour and then gone all out next year with a proper re-issue to coincide with her tour.

It's a completely messed up release and I dont understand the strategy behind it at all.

It appears to have been a waste of time and effort.
