December 18, 20213 yr Adore Pythia (multiple looks for the Drag Race history books) but Icesis has been giving off winner all season — she has it and does it all.
December 18, 20213 yr idk i have to say that icesis gave off the winner VIBE for sure, but she didn't always back it up in her performances to the level that pythia did and we are all kinda overlooking that!
December 18, 20213 yr Icesis was my winner! An all round queen who didn't really have much weakness, her second bottom definitely was not a deserved one and she was strong in other challenges that she didn't win! Pythia is fantastic on the runway and what she brings as a person is great but her performance and personality don't pop out enough to be a drag 'superstar' imo. She was definitely the second strongest though! A fantastic season on the whole though, every single person in that cast had a role and didn't feel like there was any filler!

December 18, 20213 yr When I look at Pythia all I can see is Crystal Method. She was outstanding once again! Such a great final!!!
December 20, 20213 yr The world just isn't ready to go for someone who doesn't exactly fit the standards of the drag race winners based on the subjective criteria the US franchise set and what we've been fed throughout the years.
December 21, 20213 yr Finally watched all the last 3 episodes today and THRILLED that Icesis won. In the end, I think it was quite clear she was the only one who was the total package. She had a real confidence about her in the end that just exuded star quality, and I say that as someone who didn't fully get her in the early episodes but she came alive, around about the roast for me? Pythia's runways were some of the most fun I've witnessed on this show and I love her unique sense of style, but I think it was clear in the final two episodes that there were still a few dots to be connected before she was fully realised in all departments. There's no way they could've crowned her after the 3 lip syncs she put in in those last 3 episodes, she's like Gottmik in that sense. Terrible lip syncer but everything else is there, so in a show like this, she was just missing a final ingredient. What a talent though. One thing I have to disagree on that I've seen in here is that Kendall was out of her depth in the final?! She KILLED 'Queen Of The North' if you ask me, her verse and choreography were the best which was a stark contrast to that awful Bye Flop verse. I'd say the final went: Performance: 1. Kendall / 2. Icesis / 3. Pythia Runway: 1. Icesis / 2. Pythia / 3. Kendall Final Lip Sync: 1. Icesis / 2. Kendall / 3. Pythia FANTASTIC series though. I wish I didn't have Drag Race fatigue and kinda slumped towards the end because it was clearly a better series than UK3 which I prioritised. I think this has great rewatch value and every queen brought something special to the series. I wish I could've seen more of Stephanie and Suki and less of someone like Gia, who was the only one I found irritating, but hey, what Drag Race series comes without losing a fave early on, I guess?
December 21, 20213 yr ok not to sound like a broken record but i thought pythia won the celine lipsync!
December 22, 20213 yr ok not to sound like a broken record but i thought pythia won the celine lipsync! It's kind of starting to piss me off how everyone keeps saying Pythia apparently doesn't have this MYSTERIOUS X FACTOR THING and isn't a total package :') Just because someone is more quiet and reserved doesn't mean they are not confident or missing something. It's also not all about overcoming the most struggles to get here. I can relate to Icesis' challenges a lot but these days a lot comes down to comparing sob stories especially this season. Kendall - addiction, Pythia - being raised in homophobic Greece, Icesys - being raised in an abusive household. Pythia isn't a lip sync queen and that's why she didn't win. Conveniently omitting the fact Icesis flopped in 2 of the most iconic challenges - Rusical and Makeover. I'm not saying that Icesis doesn't also deserve the win - she 100% does and I'm very happy for her - my issue lies with minimising Pythia's run on the show because she's different.

I feel like this is a massive stretch though — she lost because of a lack of 'story', rather than the makeover itself. She made one of the best looks of the night. Kendall was right there. Anyway! I love Pythia! I would have been happy with Pythia winning too.

Actually now that I think about that challenge, I thought she had a chance to win that one as well because of the edit. The only thing I agree with is that they felt a bit disconnected on the runway. But technically she flopped the challenge as per the judges' criteria. Which they kept changing throughout the season :') Maybe if they kept it consistent, it would feel like Icesys deserved it more over Pythia. Edited December 22, 20213 yr by Bdelita
December 22, 20213 yr I also would like to say I loved the judge line up! I wonder if it will be the same next season, seeing as I love Stacey and want her back too
January 3, 20223 yr Really enjoyed this season! Surprising as I didn’t enjoy the first season. It was camp, had a heart and teached us some new things. Love both Icesis and Pythia but I’m happy the first one won. She seems to be the most commercial/full rounded. And Pythia has the exposure but not the pressure of the crown. I think that will help her career in the long run (spread her message but remain more free to try new creative things).
January 3, 20223 yr I also would like to say I loved the judge line up! I wonder if it will be the same next season, seeing as I love Stacey and want her back too I'd probably swap Traci, she's fine but definitely can come across like she's onthe red carpet reading an autocue a lot of the time  This panel with Stacey as well would be even more elite since she was the saving grace last time.
January 3, 20223 yr Just finished this season and what a success it was! Such a huge step up on last year - and such a likeable cast I'd love to see pretty much all of them again. I think a huge part of why I enjoyed it was the production and editing (for once!) For the most part the queens all had fairly equal screen time, there wasn't really any main characters and whilst Pythia and Icesis always felt like the front runners, they were never forced on to us. There was also a lack of forced storylines, no unnecessary drama that we've seen 20 times by this point - they whole 3 bffs from Vancouver was only mentioned passingly and never became Rolaskatox 2.0. Obviously the judging was much better than last season and was probably fairer than most recent US seasons, and the challenges were all good as well. What a nice surprise this season was
February 16, 20223 yr So i've been slowly watching this season and just finished the roast/ that lip sync. Has to be one of the most uncomfortable lip syncs of all-time. I get that Kimora had checked out, but it was just wrong for her to basically get in Gia's face and follow her around like that. I liked her until the whole 'I give up'/ that lip sync. Strong top 5 though. Not a massive fan of Kendall - but really like the other 4. Shame about Synthia going as she was cuttingly brilliant.
February 16, 20223 yr The Lipsync showdown... I would've preferred Kendall to finish in 4th. Pythia was lucky. I love her (2nd to Icesis), but she was out of her depth in both of her lip syncs. But then she has been so strong throughout that she couldn't really be cut. It felt a bit silly to be honest. They could've just done what they did in Drag Race 2 - have a final 4, cut 1 and then have the top 3 lip sync. Gia feels a little robbed as she was great in both lip syncs. Kendall though is just so far behind Icesis and Pythia overall. Icesis may have a worse track record (well in terms of bottom 2), however she does have an edge and a fire for the win that feels missing in the other 2. Pythia though as I said has been amazing throughout, but kind of lacks that winner vibe/ drive. Love both of them though.
February 16, 20223 yr 100% the right winner. Icesis rocked the final runway and the performance. Pythia had a great runway, but she cannot lip sync at all, all of the lip syncs we saw from her were just lacking energy and a bit of commitment. Such a sweetheart and amazing looks and concepts, but there was something lacking compared to Icesis. Kendall had a great performance, but that last runway look was a choice. Her drag is very basic and to be honest her make up isn’t even that great. In the final 3 critiques compared to Icesis and Pythis she just looked out of her depth. I know drag can be anything and Pyhtia is gender-bending and pushing boundaries, but Kendall really is giving man in a dress – there seems to be a lack of something with her look each week that makes her just look extremely basic. Icesis may have had a couple of off weeks, but she has been a powerhouse throughout and has had a drive that kind of her marked her down as the winner. A great Queen and thoroughly deserved winner. That’s 2 out of 2 for Drag Race Canada and 2 great series, It was good seeing Priyanka again who was also a brilliant winner. I would say this series was a step up from Series 1, especially on the runway and the challenges. The judging panel was great, the Queens all brought something a bit different and it wasn’t reliant on twists and gimmicks throughout. Best Series since Drag Race UK Series 2. Basically the US series really does need to look at the Canadian version and stop messing about with the format each week. Same with the UK Series which had a gimmick each week and didn’t come off the better for it. Hopefully Series 3 (I presume there will be one) will continue in the same vein.
