October 3, 20214 yr Shame that the original by PinkPantheress never reached top 20 and yet Central Cee is top 5.
October 3, 20214 yr Elton John & Dua Lipa are fighting it out with Ed Sheeran for Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart. Ed’s current chart-topper Shivers (1) holds a narrow lead at the top of the Official Chart First Look, while Elton & Dua’s Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) (2) is just 2,500 chart sales behind. Cold Heart is Elton’s highest-charting single as a lead artist since his re-release of Are You Ready For Love hit Number 1 in 2003. The track trails his new album The Lockdown Sessions, which includes collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, and more. Ed continues dominate the Official Singles Chart in the run up to his new album =, released on October 29. Former Number 1 Bad Habits rebounds three places to Number 3, while album track Visiting Hours is back up six spots to Number 16. Global viral smash Heat Waves by Oxford band Glass Animals is on course to reach new heights on the Official Singles Chart this week, up three rungs to Number 5. Another single climbing back up the Top 40 is the title track of Billie Eilish’s latest album Happier Than Ever, set to make a return to the Top 10 this Friday, up two places to Number 9. Finally, Becky Hill & Topic's My Heart Goes (La Di Da) continues to scale the Top 20, currently up three spots to Number 14.
October 3, 20214 yr Does anyone think Sugababes One touch will do anything? I really hope so, the 2,500 signed/numbered CD singles they gave away with the album have all gone so sales have certainly been decent.
October 3, 20214 yr Great to see ‘Heat Waves’ finally top 5 and despite it not being summer it actually works better as an Autumn song as the lyrics are quite melancholy.
October 3, 20214 yr Sugababes i think could could manage top 30. Ah would be incredible if it could beat its original #26 peak.
October 3, 20214 yr Is there a particular reason 'Bad Habits' is back up to #3? Or is it just down to First Look not being all that reliable/accurate? Edited October 3, 20214 yr by Mangø
October 3, 20214 yr Is there a particular reason 'Bad Habits' is back up to #3? Or is it just down to First Look not being all that reliable/accurate? First Look always favours songs with strong Amazon presence and downloads (both of which are reported on time). Also the downloads aren’t halved on ACR so the ACR handicap kicks in more later in the week.
October 3, 20214 yr Yes, on Amazon, Bad Habits is presumably doing more than double the likes of Obsessed With You, and especially Love Nwantiti which isn't even top 40 there at present, so even with its streams halved BH is ahead of those songs based on that data. As the week goes on and Spotify and Apple catch up, I'd expect it to drop back to about #6.
October 4, 20214 yr Does anyone think Sugababes One touch will do anything? I’m really hoping so. They have an Essentials collection out this week too and it would be nice to see both in the top 40 if possible. Defo crossing my fingers for One Touch to grab a new peak
October 4, 20214 yr It's a bit weird with re-issues cos some do very very well, even go top 10 while others go totally unnoticed even for big names like Robbie Williams last week reissuing his first 2 albums...
October 4, 20214 yr It's probably combination of dedicated fanbase and the structure of it. Robbie is not really a "collector's artist".
