I’ve never known a Q4 like this the music industry has pulled out all the stops.

I wonder how many of these might have appeared in Q4 2020 instead if not for Covid, I would imagine a lot of major artists just didn't want to release music at all last year.

In a way it feels like this is two Q4 periods in one there are SO many major releases. Coldplay (far less bankable than they used to be admittedly), Ed, ABBA, Adele all releasing within weeks of each other is insane enough, then you have lots of other big acts who you can generally depend to turn in 40k+ sales week one releasing too. What a great shot in the arm it will be for the albums market!

Turns out there is also a new Ronan Keating album out on the 12th, I have no idea if he still charts well though.

I can see The Wanted maybe doing 20/25k+ too!

Coldplay might still be doing okay numbers too, I wonder if the entire top 10 can do 20k+

His last album did 16.7k first week to debut at #2.

I went for Abba a month ago but thinking now Rod Stewart’s chances are higher, he has a perfectly timed Graham Norton Show appearance on Friday and looks like he is giving this Album a big push!
Might be Taylor  It's a threeway battle between Taylor, Ed and Abba. Abba MIGHT, MIGHT still do respectable numebrs second week, but it is very likely that the supermarkets take down their displays as a circuit breaker between them and Adele... If the supermarkets take them down, then Ed vs Taylor; if they lesve them up, to quickly replace with Adele with no fuss, then Abba vs Taylor vs Ed. More realistically, Taylor will be on around 35k and Ed around 30-40k.
I have no idea about Kylie, with only 3 different formats, only a month of preorders and it being a rerelease.

Kylie has 2 x vinyl, CD/DVD and CD - however the majority is priced at the top end and would not be a causal pick up for the GP.

I think LM could pull in decent numbers - I’m sure they have 10 different vinyl variants (!!).

The 2nd Kylie vinyl is an extended edition that is only being released in December so that won’t be released this week. Also any bundles that include the vinyl will only be dispatched in December so that could have an impact on the numbers.

Little Mix

If the Amazon tracklist is right, their first hit and No.1, Cannonball is missing.

Do you guys think that Taylor has a really good chance of being #1 with Red (Taylor’s Version)?

Why are you asking a question about something that people were already discussing in this thread?

It's in some formats of the album. Too many formats that I can't even keep up with.
