Remind me is Seventeen Going Under going to end up in Top 40 this week but not shown in these updates as the ACR reset hasn't been applied yet?

Hasn't Elton already had a Top 10 hit in the 2020s? Step Into Christmas got to number 8 in the first chart of this year!

It first reached #8 in 2019!

'Cold Heart' is his first new top 10 hit of the 2020s, 'Step Into Christmas' first got there in the 2010s.

Another relatively decent update for James Blake, hopefully he is on track to at least do over 5k.

Has it gone? there is no option for me to order!

Looks like they went quickly - they sent an email out so people jumped straight on it.

The story says "Elton John sets a new record as the only act in Official UK Chart history to score a Top 10 single in six different decades, the Official Charts Company can reveal."

Nothing about new songs there! With Step into Christmas climbing to number 8 at the start of this year he technically scored a Top 10 hit in this decade, regardless of the fact that it had been there before.

Spot on!

So glad that SGU could be going top 40 on Friday

Well technically speaking the OCC posting about it now is a late acknowledgement regardless of whether you count 'Step Into Christmas' or not, since they have waited until 'Cold Heart' was already 4 weeks into its top 10 run to post about it for some reason

(which means they have had over 4 weeks to realise that Cliff Richard had done it already...)

The OCC are more about trying to generate a story and interest in the fact it could go to #1 rather than actually report any facts -_-
I don't think the OCC ever exclude the songs with The Shadows from Cliff's stats. (They are sometimes excluded from The Shadows' stats for some reason though)

Yeh true was thinking that that’s where they were getting the stat from maybe.

Maybe they divide up the shadows because they had a separate career from cliff afterwards with different members!

It's going to be really close for the #1 isn't it? The gap keeps closing. I hope the signed CDs make a big enough difference!

Adele looking likely to go top 5 with 25 it seems then! :o I assume it'll pass 4 million in the next year with the release of her next album. I wonder how close 19 is to 3 million. I hope we get a lot of sales info for her albums/singles with the release of her lead single and then album.

I still can't believe how low Oh Wonder are! They went top 10 with their last releases.....

I thought 19 was on around 2,500 million?

It is:

Adele’s 2015 album 25 has 50,563 sales (including 45,836 from streams) so far this year, according to the Official Charts Company. Total UK sales are 3,700,705.

Adele’s 2011 LP 21 has UK sales of 5,286,232 (including 46,602 so far this year. Her debut album 19, released in 2008, is just shy of 2.5 million UK sales (including 21,371 this year).

The gap has gone from 3.1k on Monday to 2.5k today, there's not really any sign that Ed's numbers are accelerating fast enough to suddenly make up that much more of a gap in another 2 days (more like 3 accounting for streaming lag but still), in fact he actually decreased on Spotify while Elton increased yesterday. He might close the gap to maybe 1k at a push but I'd be very surprised if he managed to overtake now.
